Saints sign veteran safety Jordan Pugh

The Saints have signed a veteran defensive back to help them through the playoff run.
Safety Jordan Pugh sent out a Tweet saying he signed with the Black and Gold. "It's official I'm a saint!!" he wrote. "#whodat nation lets get it!!!!" He is a 4th year player. The Redskins let him go early in this season after just one tackle and one interception. Last year with Washington he had 13 tackles and one sack. In 2011 he had 18 tackles, forced a fumble with the Panthers and filled in as a kick returner, averaging 25.5 yards per return. He averaged 24 yards per return in 2010 with Carolina. He also logged one interception that season and 9 tackles. Pec tear is like a rebuilt tranny, almost never the same. Charles Grant really was not the same player after his tear. As long as we are being proactive, which I know we are, it's all we can do. The offense is going to have to step it up in the RZ. Our D is taking some big shots.

ok i now think hawthorne moved to haralsons olb an humber mpves to starting mlb.thought they would move up johnson off practice squad.I do not see how pugh helps for seahawks game as no way he learns system that fast.frampton the saftey who was cut to move up knox had been with ryan in dallas.not big on herring at olb as a starter i think haralson to IR.

pugh was pick 202 in 2010 draft by panthers 5-10an6/8ths tall 196 pro day 4.4 speed played fs an some corner an kick returner an fs/cb tweener. has played in 44 nfl games two int an some kickoff returns also.

At least we didn't sign a corner back. Sounds like Lewis is likely to play. Players can come back the next game after an concussion. Lewis already did it early in the season when Vaccaro ran into him. I'm sure the argument is being made to the medical staff that if we lose this week Lewis will have the offseason to rest up so he might as well play.

Its hard for me to imagine a guy with such athletic ability getting kicked to the curb. He must be as smart as a box of rocks. |

I hope Humber or anyone else sees some snaps over Herring. The guy looked lost and basically was just standing there on two of Philly's TD's. Horrible.
