Sean Payton believes Rob Ryan will be a head coach

A finalist three years ago for the head-coaching job in Carolina, the notion that Rob Ryan hasn’t even made the exhaustive list in Washington seems odd, unless there was an incident between Buddy Ryan and Bruce Allen’s father, George, that we don’t know about.

While Rob Ryan may not be on anyone’s list right now, it’ll be interesting to see what happens if Ryan can put together a game plan that takes down the Seahawks in their own building on Saturday.

I just hope Rob is paying no attention to this BS from Mike Florio. That guy had all season to write about this and of course he chose this week.

Payton rides him hard anytime we get scored on. He may get in a hurry to leave.

The Florios of the world do this every time we enter the post season or finish a season and we keep sharing it...

Don't even see how he even has a leg to stand on. Ryan should ride him anytime we never score "on"...especially after the D makes a crucial stop. The inability to make first downs and run out the clock (in 2 games at least) cost us the Division Championship.

I would be down for him as a HC with a good offensive coordinator. If Rivera can do why would Ryan be able to do the same?

They don't make as good gumbo, muffalettas, or beignets any where else. I say he stays. :-)

If I were an owner or GM looking to turn my losing team around, I'd probably be looking at Ryan too after the way he turned the Saints defense around.

most coaches go off on anyone around them when they don't get their way, except perhaps dungy

that is why they're head coaches. they'll tear anybody a new ass.

alpha male. perhaps some of you aren't is why you don't get it.

He's a party animal with a great defensive mind. You don't hire NFL head coaches that hang out in bars after games with fans.

He's perfect where he is, and I think he probably prefers it to all the politics and administration tasks of being a head coach.

He could be a very well paid DC for a very long time and not have to deal with all the BS head coaches do. He's in the perfect spot (in my opinion).

He does what he wants on defense and he has a GM, coach and owner that will do everything they can to give him what he needs.

You have to respect a man that refuses to change who he is a conform with what others want to get a head coaches job.
He looks like he enjoys life more than most head coaches do and must just look at what Rex puts up.
