The New Orleans Saints showed up to their NFC wild-card playoff game last weekend against the Philadelphia Eagles with a huge target on the side of their bus entering Lincoln Financial Field, practically begging Eagles fans to fire objects at them from the street.

During the course of the game, the target shifted to second-year cornerback Corey White.

Once Keenan Lewis left the Saints' 26-24 win last Saturday with a concussion, White saw his assignment shift to covering Eagles speedster DeSean Jackson.

It's nothing personal, and I'm not saying I'm a bad player or anything like that. They just know it's my first year starting in the league, and we're coming after this guy.

Nick Foles immediately tested White on the play after Lewis' injury and connected with Jackson for a 40-yard reception. White also drew a 40-yard pass interference penalty on the Eagles' final possession as Philadelphia took a 24-23 lead two plays later.

White has 10 career starts. He's basically a rookie+
There are very few 23 year old CB's that step right in and make an impact. I'd say he 's pretty close to the 3-4 corners taken in the first round this year. Next year we'll see a very competitive camp

Considering White has had to step into the starting role he has done well. There are plays that he needs to make though. I watched the Hawks game today and noticed a play where White had the INT and dropped it. Normally you say no big deal, get the next one, however White seems to be in position to make the play very often but can't cash it in (49ers game anyone?). He is only going to get better, and I think he should be the starter from here on out.

he's absolutely right. they will be coming after him. he better be ready and he better make plays.

White is a decent CB. Very good tackler. Always close to the play. Never gets smoked. But, I honestly believe he and Jenkins are playing at their second best positions. White thrived at safety in college and Jenkins was a top CB before his pro days. Both of them need to show up at their current positions for the Saints to have a fighting chance on Saturday.

There is alot of young talent in that defense. Hopefully we can keep the unit together long term.

As long as he improves im fine with it, im just sick and tired of seeing a saints DB not turn their head to locate the ball and bear hugging the WR to draw a flag

I have very few problems with White's play this season. He got taken advantage of early on but he's been pretty solid since that Falcons game. I am much more concerned with nickel-dime situations because we're basically going to have no choice except to put Harper in coverage.

Did anyone really expect White to be able to shut down Jackson?

Lewis will be back this weekend against Seattle, but White shure in the heck better get between Baldwin and the ball.

White is what everyone here wants, a physical player... We need to let him play man and check Seattles WR at the line of scrimmage so they do not get free releases, this will give the front 7 a few more valuable added seconds to get to Wilson.

The guy is a liability that is going to get us sent home. I don't know what you all see in him. He gets beat by his man all the time. Please tell me who or what was he covering on the Cooper Td last week ? Time and time again I've seen him covering a spot on the field where there wasn't anybody within 10 yrds of him but his guy he was covering on the line Ginn in the Carolina game and Cooper last week made the big play in the game

Seems like you are expecting perfection from a defensive player in an offensive league. This is not realistic. Even Keenan Lewis gets beat 2-3 times a game. And I'm pretty sure the Cooper TD was on zone coverage bc you don't play man in the end zone like that.

I would rather commend for him going from 5th round draft pick and the #5 guy on the depth chart to becoming a pretty decent #2 corner, than to condemn him for not being a good #1.

Agreed. I think white will be ok. He's still young. As is sweeting. I'm much more concerned about harper. Watching harper trying to do anything other than run support scares me more than I'm willing to admit. I'd rather see white be left with no safety help than see a one on one with harper in coverage.

Harper was covering ( being generous here) Cooper on the TD. And I'm sure the only reason it was Harper was because of injuries.

All this talk about harper covering cooper on the TD pass, go and watch the clip and count how many seconds foles has -atleast 6 or 7

Even keenan lewis would not be able to cover for that long
