We were up to the challenge today, we just woke up a little late, and in their house you can't do that...

The "experts" had us 9-7 and possibly 3rd place in the NFC South. Not so much.

The "experts" gave us no chance in Philly. Not so much.

Far as I'm concerned we were playing with house money all season long after having been without a coach last year and the lack of any real expectations for our team outside our own fan base.

We need some help on the o-line, but we proved we can run the ball. We just witnessed the greatest defensive turnaround in the history of the NFL, and we did that with tons of players hurt and unable to play.

Anybody think Sean and Mickey will fail to work their offseason magic speak now.

The future remains bright. This was one heck of a "recovery" year for our franchise and we will be right there in the thick of it again next year.

Chin up. We be solid.

Congrats to Seattle. Good team and took advantage of a crack in the NLF penalty system. Can't fault them for that, that's an NFL issue not their problem. Enjoy it because next season there will be a hack a shack rule change. Count on it.

I think our offense will look better next year too. With a solid running game, it'll take pressure off Drew to do everything. Hopefully, he won't have to force the ball as much.

I agree with the opening poster. No one expected anything of us this year but we the fans. Injuries decimated us this year (all Defense).

If we can clear our cap issues (in Loomis I trust), I expect us to be quite formidable next year.

We will get the FA's we need and pick the right draft choices to continue to be the force we've become.

As bummed out as I am over that game, my chin is always up. I am a Saints fan, not a Falcons fan.

I would love, love, love to see our team become a power-running team (Robinson, PT, and Ingram) with a crushing, smothering defense.

Then, have Drew sit back and pick teams apart on play action passes.

Disagree. A productive year. Sean's first year back. He even said he didn't know until deep into the season just what kind of team he had. I think we're going to continue to see good things from this team next year, and I think some changes are going to be made that, well, some we've been calling for and some that will surprise.

I just hate to see us lose when it was right there for the taking. Still stings.. but hopefully it will be may soon and we can have the draft to look forward too.

Yeah, 6 -7 hours later I am a bit more gutted than I was, mostly because we coulda' and shoulda' had that. A few stupid mistakes early was all it took.

I think Seattle is relieved to get out of that game, and the rest of the league is probably happy we are out.

It is a thin thin line between success and failure. Sure the Seattle D was, and is, pretty damn impressive, but they didn't do a lot anywhere else and we were a bit late in the game (pretty typical of the year)

A tweak here and there and we are for real. I think we grew a lot over the past few weeks. Pain does that, maybe, but we hardened up, including Brees , and we showed that we can duke it out on the road in the rain with the best of them.

I really hate the off season, but I am excited about next year. Other teams aren't standing still, mind you, but we are making good gains. The D will only get better, and the O looks like being more balanced.

Game on.

We're pretty young in a few places. This was a great season. We're a legitimate contender for all the marbles next year. Guaranteed.

The way the defense got it together. What an effort. That alone was a highlight that has a high potential to be better.

Our D played lights out. I love the way we ran the ball. I hope it continues next season. Im damn proud of our team and how far we made it. WHODAT till I die!!!!!!!!

If I was drew, I'd rather go to Hawaii than nj this time of year anyway, lol. This team will be way better balanced all around next year.

Many other teams wish they had the Saints ranking for these good years.

Belair, I have no problem with SS winning as in that it just might be their year. Saints also just had their year in their SB and it was all theirs for the taking all the way. It was their time.
Problem I have in Saintfan's opening post of his thread is the Saints came up too late.
We have seen many games when they tried to comeback, were really gaining, but ran out of time.
The ole comeback thing is a gamble.
Gambles do not work out as a guarantee.
There are not 5 qrtrs. in the game.
Yes, and I know some of you saying WTH from me because I had to leave the game at the 2nd qrtr.
I was too angry, scared, hopeful, never doubtful, sad, mad to watch it .
A win, I could watch on reviews.
