Re: The Big 2014 Changes thread (Non Draft)
By burn the play book. Most plays are built off of a slew of basic plays....
However, the basic plays are tailored by Sean Payton to fit two things. The players/personnel package that will execute, and what the play looks like pre-snap. Both need to change. We probably run a dozen or so plays out of the same pre-snap formation, those presnap formations need to change and we need fewer personnel packages. If I whip out wire cutters, wire strippers, and a couple of wire nuts; you have a good chance of guessing what I am about to do..... If I take out duct tape, vice grips, and WD-40; I could conquer the world or adjust a bicycle chain. |

McMahon has to go.
Jenkins has to go. Smith has to go. These three alone would make me happy. |
Re: The Big 2014 Changes thread (Non Draft)
QB-Restructure Brees - can not be done this year unless some one wants to shell millions and i means of dollars up front. plus i think there is something in collect bargain against it.
But i think he can get a totally new contract. i think Brady and the Pats did it. Maybe that is why there is a rule against it. have to do some reading on that one |
Re: The Big 2014 Changes thread (Non Draft)
Maybe we need some nickel and dime changes instead of big ones
Collins? he is cheap, why replace him? cut McCown, promote RG1 and save almost a million restructure our 3.3 million dollar punter, our $5 mill DT, Bresus, and a few others. Loomis is a master of the New Deal. We were ONE play from hosting the NFCG...do we really need sweeping changes? |

I didn't read any of the replies so I wouldn't be influenced by a bunch of logic and stuff.

Youth and talent = recipe for greatness and the ultimate prize. I got a feeling this off season Loomis is going to go Ozzie Newsome on us (lot of new faces on both sides of the ball).

Re: The Big 2014 Changes thread (Non Draft)
I'm not going to mention any teams by name.
If you want speed like their defense we have to get younger, and faster if you want receivers that can get separation from their speed on defense.... We have to get younger and faster. That involves doing things... Things we do not necessarily want to do. Football is a sport of short longevity, if we want the Darren Sproles, PIerre Thomas, Marques Colston of tomorrow..... We have to let go of the ones we have today to make room. In 2008, 2009 and 2010 we developed a lot of receivers on the field. In 2012 and 2013 we threw to Jimmy. |

Buy Kromer a mansion, a couple of O-linemen and three or four restaurants! Get him back whatever it costs!

Ingram is the Joey Votto of the NFL, always comes on in the second half but lags around early. |

Meaning the critics are right about us not being good enough but some haters have gone so far as saying the colts and chargers were better. |

Before Brees we were not actually bad. We had .500 seasons for three years. In 2005 we lost five games by 7 or less points and got screwed of any kind of home game against the giants. The bucs game the last game was also 7 point deficit before turning it over that lead to TB going up 14. I know the league has changed now but we would only need a qb that can play as good as the read options and have a strong power running game. |

I don't recognize the term "hater". There is a difference between not being good enough and not playing good enough. |

Not exactly. If your RBs can't run, neither can your QB so the RO would have been a nogo in 2013. I'm not as satisfied with mediocrity as the above statement reads. |
Re: The Big 2014 Changes thread (Non Draft)
If Refs were fair flag sea cheats-patr cheats- pantem cheats then we host 49ers.so lets not dump to much off team.saints were good enough to go all the way.Haralson was a beast against run.he recovered from a tear in 2012 season.resign him to low end contract.Greer=gone.will smith=gone.resign DLP resign Srtief.Resign Jenkins.Resign humber.Resign meachem all of them at fair price but if some other team throws money let them walk.To me only Jenkins could draw big money from another team.greer an smith alone get saints under cap.Re -structure Drew enough to fit jimmy under cap.Moore also at fair contract.Could be Toon beat out by Givens.a healthy Morgan = young Devery.Keep Pierre.Draft a replacement for Sproles.Keep Cadet keep in mind his skill set displayed in 2012 preason just hard to have 5 backs active on game day but hes great cheap depth.sproles is oldest back only at low end should he be on 2014 team ::twisted::twisted:

We were mediocre those years but were a step above the Ditka years. We were trying at least. Brooks wasnt good, but we had Deuce. I was saying that we just need a good running game and a game manager. As long as Atlanta is contending, Loomis will not let us fall off after Brees. |
