Saints sign Trevin Wade CB
 

The New Orleans Saints continued to make moves this week as cornerback Trevin Wade inked a one-year deal to remain with the team earlier this week. Wade signed an exclusive rights free-agent deal worth $570,000, according to the NFLPA website.

Wade originally signed with the Saints on Nov. 19 last season to replace cornerback Jabari Greer on the roster as Greer landed on injured reserve with a knee injury.

Wade, 24, played in two regular season and two postseason games for New Orleans in 2013 as a reserve defensive back and a special teams player. He tallied three total tackles and one pass defense in the four games.

Joined the team mid-season so let's give him a full offseason of training with the team and see where we are... Could end up being a very solid contributor.

I'm a sucker for the underdog, so I'll be pulling for him but lets face it, he's competing for the 5th or 6th CB spot.

Then add in a free agent starter that we'll likely sign, and one we'll draft early (my speculation), and several that we either draft late or sign as UDFA's...

He'll be entering camp as 6th or 7th on the depth chart at best.

He's got his work cut out for him.

I think he makes the team as depth. He actually got playing time last year, more than Sweeting did the whole year.

He may not make the team, but alot of people said Pierre Thomas was a campbody

completely depends on what he shows in camp

He was 245th pick 2012 draft by Browns made 53 roster played all of 2012 on 53 man roster was hurt early in 2013 browns camp an cut with an injury settlement.Saints signed him after a workout late in 13 season in which Wade was signed over several vet Cbs with a lot of years in the nfl.He played well replacing sweeting in the philly game as the starting Cb after sweeting had a hard time replacing Lewis who old roger made the doctors sit him the 2nd half.He will in my mind make the 2014 53 roster as the dime cb.sweeting a rookie has same body build with long arms as lewis who thinks sweeting could one day be a starter in the Nfl.

If he's already played in the regular season and playoffs coach may think he can replace greer all together and that would be great for the cap. He is already familiar with the system so that puts him way ahead of anyone else we could sign

Extreme long shot lined up outside. dime or nickle type he maybe. now as blocker on gunners he is solid and actually a great up grade. so special teams will make or break the kid.

Trevin Wade as a starter for 16 games worries me. cb depth competition should be good this year in camp i think. solid group of hungry young players is all i want.

He will not be a starter but ok at dime or nickle.he was a good late season pick up who played well.

I thought he played well enough to be brought to camp where he can compete for the #1, #2, #3..........CB position. You never know what will happen at TC. Payton gives everyone equal consideration.

can pick up camp bodies for a lot cheaper, hes the real deal and the coaches saw it in him for the early signing. he sticks and becomes big part of run for the title in 14.

The Saints can find a starting CB in rounds 2-5 with more talent than any on the roster has shown except Lewis. If Wade makes the team, it will be a weak group next season.
