NFL Rumors: Brees to be traded for #1 pick

Kind of slow around here so I though as long as other inept, uninformed writers were throwing rumors around, what the hell?

Other rumors:
Pierre Thomas signs with the Houston Astros

Brees, Brady and the Manning brothers buy the Jacksonville Jaguars for chump change -Plan on developing a four QB rotation after they retire from playing on real football teams.

Mickey Loomis reported abducted by aliens. It later turns out he was just attending Rob Ryan's surprise birthday party...

So you decided to be an inept uninformed writer?

It has been slow here. So many gawkers with so few posting.
Some of you treating this past season and offseason like it's a funeral.

Trust me, I lost my best buddy about 4 weeks ago, DON'T TREAT LIFE (OR THE SAINTS) LIKE A FUNERAL! Count your blessings.

I'm never one for sarcasm threads but I can appreciate this one.

Bless your heart, but knowing that would contradict being inept and uninformed. :p

Didn't mean to sound terse. I'm dealing with kidney stones right now and reading is a distraction from the pain.

You know Oak, there's been quite a bit of discussion as to which is more painful -having a baby or passing a stone. Now after a bit of time after giving birth, I've heard many women say, "It's about time I had another baby." I've never heard anyone say, "It's about time I passed another stone."

Seemed to be an easy way to get through life... I guess I could also go for meteorologist or politician as well....

Not sure how many more examples you might need but my sister had stones a few months before giving birth, she said she will take child birth any day.

Having spent a good bit of time in the emergency room growing up... broken bones, stitches, surgeries, etc. I was in Africa with nothing stronger than moatrin the first time I had them .... Never have I had intense pain that made me vomit like that.

My mother is a nurse, when a grown man on Morphine balls up I to the fetal and cries..... It's real.

That said, I know most of the tricks.

Hot water, hydro's, & Oxy's, help a lot

I ran in 4 marathons until 2006 when a stone reared it's ugly head and blocked the passage to my bladder. I suffered for 6 weeks with that stone until my kidney was about to shut down. Just as my doctor was finally recommending surgical options to save my kidney, it finally broke up and released.

The doctor had my stones analyzed after they passed and luckily found a remedy. Passing stones still recurred for years until 2011 when through additional diet changes ordered by my doctor I have been able to finally be kidney stone free for 2 plus years (fingers crossed).

The pain is excruciating and eclipses anything (sorry ladies, I know we live in feminist times but childbirth does not last two to six weeks straight).

PM me Oak and I can give you some advice on what worked for me.

I work with a guy who's making a necklace out all of his. Yeah, he's a little off....

Maybe I should rename this thread, "Whose got the stones?"

It'd be wrong just to name it, "Stoned"...

Diladin (I really cant spell) and Valium will ease the pain, good luck, I get around 3 stones a year. Drinking anything with real lemon helps put a coating around the stone and will pass a little easier but doesnt help much if it gets 6mm or more. Biggest I've had was 8mm and thought I was going to die, fetal posistion and all.

Depends on if your stones are calcium stones. There are 3 types of kidney stones, calcium, struvite crystals (magnesium ammonium phosphate), and uric acid. Calcium based stones are the most common. They can be dissolved with "lemon" or citric acid. If you have uric acid formations then your condition is genetic and I don't think they're is much they can do. Struvite stones can also be managed, but I don't have them so I don't know.

Any lemon citric acid will dissolve calcium stones. I get that cheap, nasty green lemon juice concentrate from the grocery store and put it in filtered water about once a week and down it. If I have stones then I put a half glass of that in an 8oz cup with half water and pinch my nose and down it. If I have stones at the time I'll do that 3 times a day. You can literally dissolve them in a few days.

Anyway, chances of Brees being traded are about as good as my fixed, womb-less, female dog getting pregnant! :jkool:

Just a tip on Kidney Stones, drink a glass of Cranberry Juice each day.
The acid from the Cranberry will naturally dissolve the stones and won't let them build up. If you have a major stone and suffering that exruciating pain, drink as much of the Cranberry Juice as you can.
Also there is an over the counter pain reliever called Percogesic which most of the major pharmacy chains carry. A Kidney Stone is your worst
nightmare, trust me.

Should've said the Browns hire Ditka as head coach then trade all of their forty-two or whatever draft choices for Graham and Brees...

Interesting. Dilaudid is an analgesic and for pain, and Valium treats anxiety and spasams.

The first time I had stones I was in Nigeria on a deep water rig and the only thing on board was advil. That is where I learned pain can cause vomiting... Anyway long story short, I learned that a hot shower aimed at the suspect kidney does wonders, albeit for a short time after you get out. If no shower, a hot bathtub works just as well.

Anyway, I was med vac'd to a Hospital in Lagos and the chief surgeon (thank my lucky stars) was an Italian Cardiologist. That is where I learned that pain killers treat the symptoms (American method), but antispasmodics treat the problem. The pain is caused by the kidney spasming. I flew home (9 hour flight and 4 hour layover) on nothing but antispasmodics, my doctor in the US tried to treat the western way and I was in pain until they passed.

Be very careful trying to dissolve stones, what is too big to cause problems can become small enough to cause problems.

As halo pointed out, know what you are dealing with, the wrong treatment can actually cause more stones, its a chemical reaction. In the case of calcium stones dairy products can actually prevent their formation because they bind the oxalates in your intestines and prevent the stones from forming.
