I'm hoping Morgan is 100% going into camp. I still have question marks on his route running.

That's because there are bigger question marks about his ability to stay healthy. :bng:

So does Anquan Boldin.

I think speed is the most overrated quality in a WR. It can help, sure, but it isn't a necessity. Landry will be a fine pro because he is very advanced in the technical parts of the game. (route running, blocking, catching, etc)

As scouts have pointed out, he's below average coming out of the blocks, but fast once he gets up to speed.

His speed is fine considering most WR/CB races begin after the first few steps and after contact anyway.

Yeah, if he ran a 4.9 I'd avoid him, but a 4.7 doesn't drop him off the board considering all his other skills/measurables.

Ill twist that for ya a little. We had a huge issue this season with WRs coming out of blocks slowly. Seattle exploits that.

But it wasn't start speed that was the problem, it was disengaging physical CB's. I think thats a physicality problem, not a first jump problem.

Wouldn't first jump quickness and power be the key to preventing full engagement making disengaging easier?

As an offensive lineman I went up against bigger and stronger linemen but I was quicker to get out of my stance, load hands and get my power underneath me.

If a WR can get in a CBs face quicker he isn't taking on 100% of that CBs momentum.

ESPN Triplett: Trent Dilfers thoughts on New Orlenas Saints-Seattle Seahawks - ESPN

On whether the Seahawks are as good as any team in the NFL today at disrupting receivers’ routes:

Dilfer: “Yes, Pete [Carroll] and his staff have done a great job in kind of bringing back the ‘80s secondary play. And I know they’re gonna deny this, but there’s no denying it -- they’re convinced that the refs are only gonna throw about 15 flags a game. And they’re not gonna throw all 15 of those in the secondary. So they might get four to six thrown on ‘em. But they figure, if a team’s gonna throw the ball 40 times and we’re gonna get physical 40 times, they’re not gonna call more than six [penalties]. So they’re really playing the odds with how they play in the secondary.

I agree with this. I LOVE Jarvis Landry(dude tackles like Gleason on special teams and blocks like an animal too). But Beckam is a great returner, which we desperately need and he can stretch the defense which we need even more. I'm gonna say something now which I notice. Payton has drafted very few local players. The fans love it...ala...(Dalton Hilliard, Eric Martin, Bobby Hebert) I'd love Jarvis Landry, Beckam, J.C. Copeland, Ego Ferguson, the wideout from Tulane. Give me one of em at least please Sean Payton.
