If we're keeping him, I say we cut Pierre Thomas, Darren Sproles, and Lance Moore, let Zach Strief, Malcolm Jenkins, and Brian De la Puente walk, and try to make as much cap room as we can. Restructuring deals and what not.

Like I've said before this gets us to next year and I think he knew this was going to happen. We can make up the difference in the cap next year and pay him a great long term contract

If no team wants to give up 2 picks for him, and he plays this season under the franchise tag, I wonder what his agent could do for him then with no other team wanting to "pay the man". Loomis might still get him on the cheap. Funny buisness kind of like Russian roulette.

We would most certainly lose him if that were the case considering Cam Jordan would be a free agent and keeping him would be pretty important. I say let Jimmy go.

As long as Drew is here Jimmy won't be going anywhere. The two have formed a special bond and Jimmy knows his career will flourish with Drew
chucking balls to him.

Drew can make anybody look good on offense... That's what makes a QB elite. We're actually still considering Joe Morgan a viable WR even though he has 10 catches in 3 years. Know why? Drew made him look good.

Our best defensive player vs. a role player that disappears when DB's get a little physical with him... I'm gonna give the money to the guy that Drew doesn't make look better than he is.

Don't get me wrong, I think JG is an amazing player... but if you asked me if I'd rather have a top WR or JG... I'd go with a WR every time. Maybe trading him would open that up to us. -

I love Jimmy Graham. He has a great story, is a great locker room guy, and plays some damn good football. That being said as much as I hate to say it, it makes more sense to me to just trade him. He is injury prone because of the way he plays and I think signing him long term would be a gamble considering what we could get if we traded him.
If we can really get 2 first round picks, or even a 1st and 2nd and free up enough money to sign a few good, starting FA's I say we have to do it.
I just hope he doesn't wind up with a team like the Falcons or Carolina or god forbid SF.

Jimmy and any other player can complain about the tag all they want. The PA negotiated it and signed off on the money being top 5. These players agreed to it; time to shut up and adhere to it.

The 'what-ifs' are fairy tales. Someone mentioned Graham could not sign it and sit out the year. How many players have done that? Vincent Jackson? Anyone else in 10 years?
OR, we could get two #1's for him. Again, how often has that happened?

We made contract offers, he said No, he got tagged. No surprise.

Yeah, we don't need any other quality players than Drew and Jimmy, why not just give them all the cap and go home? we can take all the look squad LSU players to fill in the holes.

The only reason Jimmy is in a spot to "Get Paid" is because of Payton's system and Brees throwing the ball. The only other place that Jimmy might have a 1,000 yard season is with the Pats.
