What u all think? I think he would fit perfectly in our system, would bring veteran leadership.

I'd rather find youth instead of hoping a 35 year old player can still play, especially moving from corner to safety...

It's funny you just created this thread. I was coming here to discuss this very thing. The big knocks on him now is his health and age. If we could get him on the cheap for 1 year, I think rob would put him in places where he could contribute. I mean if he can make roman harper not suck so bad last year he could at least get whatever productivity is left out of champ this year.

I really like a Vacarro/Bush tandem. I think Bush will turn out to be a very good player.

Bush and vaccaro are a great tandem, both are physical and both can make plays on the ball

I agree that Bush is the future. But I see Champ Bailey as a Ballhawk --> maybe similar role that Sharper got a couple of years ago?

Anyway would be an extra signing and should only be done if we get more capspace = if some team decides to pull the trigger on Jimmy Graham.

Bailey should have been gone from Denver 3 years ago.

We are pretty stocked on leadership on defense.... Any more, any older... and we would have to call it wisdom.

We tried it with a young one too and it did not work well either. I'm still scratching my head on that one!!

I would certainly sign him. At worse you get a guy who can fill in as a nice back up / nickel type player, or you may get a guy who may be able to still start and perhaps still dominate. Free safety is a very logical move, and as long as his health holds up could easily be among the league leaders in interceptions. Now if for some reason he really doesn't have anything left, I am sure that would be exposed during training camp and the team can simply release him at that point.

Correct me if I am wrong but don't we have enough nickles to nearly make a dollar?

A lot of names get thrown out and 90% of the replies are: He can play nickle, he would bring leadership... Leadership is one person and we don't need a pocket full of nickles. We have a handle on stopping the run, we need shut down corners...

man I don't think champ has legs left, he totally got burnt big time like Jason david big time. safety may be better fit at his age. but on the cheap, I don't see that, he won't play for less than 2 mill a year. were safe we won't get him.

Well, Charles Woodson was a CB that moved to FS later in his career and he played well at the free safety spot. I don't see why Champ can't do the same.

You can't compare two different players careers, Woodson having success has no effect on whether Bailey will have the same...

Fwiw, I don't want Bailey. I would rather resign Bush and make him our starting safety. I'm just merely stating that if Bailey made the switch to FS, it wouldn't be something so out of the ordinary.
