The Colts are saying goodbye to their starting center.

Samson Satele, who started 13 regular-season games and both playoff games for the Colts last season, has been released, as first reported by Mike Klis of the Denver Post.

A 2007 second-round pick of the Dolphins, Satele has been a starter throughout his seven-year career in Miami, Oakland and Indianapolis. At age 29, Satele still has some time left in him, but the Colts apparently decided he wasn’t worth the $4 million he was owed in 2014.

Satele now becomes an unrestricted free agent, and the Colts will look elsewhere for someone to snap the ball to Andrew Luck.

This guy really epitomizes what is going to be a legitimate complaint by the Players Association: he is one of many, many vets losing their jobs this year as a cap casualty.
PA is going to make a big push for salary cap increase because this list is getting longer and longer

Maybe the PA should at home at the QBs,T and WR eating up the cap space.
I would say $130ml a year split between 60 is a pretty heft amount considering that a fair few of the 60 will be low paid UDFA/VETS and rookies on the new rookie pay scale

If he isn't worth 4 million, I'll pass. DLP is worth about that and played better as the season progressed. I think we either resign DLP, or go with Elliot and a draft prospect.

I still think we need to upgrade the center position. We need a road grader and dlp spent too much time being pushed into the back field.

So are Graham and Jenkins. So were Harper and Greer.
If you read all of the threads, you'll see that it's true. You just need to ignore grades, stats, and interest from other teams.

Film don't lie ... Anytime there was any breakdown with Drews protection , guess who ? Anytime our Running backs couldn't move a foot before being met by multiple defenders guess who ?

Truth be told seattles beat the hell out of us because Drew couldn't friggin move left right or step up into the pocket to even attempt a quality throw ...

We can and will find better for cheaper ... Their motto isn't let's run someone over its lets hold up ... With that mentality we've already allowed the defense to take the fight to us. Enough of that tom foolery.

As someone whose played the game of football on offensive and defensive line for 15 years plus into D-1 Ball , they suck ... They don't intimidate anyone , like seriously watch some film it's hilarious how immobile they are , and them they just get overpowered its comedy

at times it was DLP, Evans, Grubbs, brown, Strief, Lelito...
It wasn't always DLP and Strief.

I say Evans improved the line the healthier he got, a stud Center would make this line special. And if Strief was a weak link in it, it would be a good thing because Strief isn't bad at all my only concern is his knees. DLP is servicable at best but why settle for that when you have all the weapons and a top QB. pulling the trigger, Brees needs time and needs to be able to step up to throw, not to mention the run game.

I'm still sayin' we've gotta get a better line coach or scheme for those guys unless we can pick up some pure freaks somewhere.
