Underutilization??
16 carries for 127 yards?? does that sound like anyone was stopping our run?? how about 25-30 carries, and we keep the other high powered O off the field?? i'm not complaining, i'll definitely take the win. but deuce seemed to be in a zone.
BnB, i'd like to reiterate, i'm very happy w/ the win. i don't want to get flam-bayed like a couple of other posters on the board who criticized the win. ;) |
Underutilization??

When they stacked the line we threw successfully. When they backed off and played base, Deuce made \'em pay. I\'d credit McCarthy but thats simply play-calling 101. The O-line also played better than they have of late. Not great but better. Of course how could they have played worse. Karney is becoming a freakin road grater. Did you see him pancake the LB on Deuce\'s TD run? Sweeeeeeeet!!! The announcers credited Jacox but Karney made that play happen. |

I\'m with Danno here.
10 yards per carry is a sign of two things: (1) good running, and (2) good game planning. Unless your name is Barry Saunders, (1) does not happen without (2). The reason for the few runs is that we set it up with the pass, and it isn\'t like we were doing too badly in that department. |

I too would have loved to have seen Deuce carry the ball 30 times. The only issue I see is maybe his ankle is not right. Why else would any coach not give him the ball more, considering the holes he had.

MatthewT,
That is an interesting angle on the \"underutilization\". |

What\'s amazing is that after the press talks about how teams dare the Saints to go deep, they go deep. Haslett must be reading the papers to figure out his game plan.

Underutilization??
I think they didn\'t go to Deuce enough. If they would have handed the ball to him about 25 times we would have kept the ball out of their offense\'s hands, and kept our defense off the feild, and we all know that\'s a good thing.
