Steelers will host ex-Saints WR Lance Moore Tuesday
CBS Sports' Jason LaCanfora Tweeted the Steelers will bring in free agent wide receiver Lance Moore Tuesday, indicating the team is at least looking beyond Jerricho Cotchery, in the event the veteran receiver isn't re-signed. Moore's numbers fell off quite a bit from 2012 to 2013, having only 37 catches for 457 yards and two touchdowns last season. He had a career-high 1,041 yards in 2012. Moore has been with the Saints since 2006, after spending the 2005 season on Cleveland's practice squad. Moore was a teammate of Steelers back-up quarterback Bruce Gradkowski at Toledo, and is from Columbus, Ohio, like Steelers running back Le'Veon Bell. How serious would the Steelers be in Moore? The team needs a solid receiver if Jerricho Cotchery isn't coming back. He has a meeting with the Carolina Panthers scheduled for Monday. This would be a good signing for Steeler nation.

Like Mitch said, maybe their cap issues are such that they plan on only using draft picks. |
Re: Steelers will host ex-Saints WR Lance Moore Tuesday
He would be a good fit there, they just lost a similar player in Emmanuel Sanders.

Re: Steelers will host ex-Saints WR Lance Moore Tuesday
Moore has better hands than Sanders. Denver overpaid him. He is younger and all that but Lance is more reliable player.

They could save 2 million by cutting Greg Olsen, or another 2 million cutting Charles Godfrey, but those are two of their best players. And they have lost their top 3 wide receivers and 3 starting OL. They were stupid to franchise Hardy. Should've let him go. He's not 16 million dollars good. |
Re: Steelers will host ex-Saints WR Lance Moore Tuesday
Be interesting to see if they can cobble together the money to keep Cam Newton when his contract expires.

Re: Steelers will host ex-Saints WR Lance Moore Tuesday
On Carolina's depth chart their top 2 receivers are Tavarres King and Martin McNutt.
No, seriously. |
Re: Steelers will host ex-Saints WR Lance Moore Tuesday
Good I hope he does wind up out of conferrence

Re: Steelers will host ex-Saints WR Lance Moore Tuesday
James Jones signed with the Raiders. Carolina has to be desperate at this point.

Re: Steelers will host ex-Saints WR Lance Moore Tuesday
Here's the thing with Carolina...
Now while they're in a crappy situation regarding their WR's, if you really look at it, they really weren't working with anything special last season as is. Steve Smith - 64 catches 745 yards 4 touchdowns Brandon LaFell - 49 catches 627 yards 5 touchdowns Ted Ginn Jr. - 36 catches 556 yards 5 touchdowns Realistically, how hard is it to really replace those numbers? They could go dumpster diving and sign gimp Miles Austin, Nate Burleson, and Jacoby Ford while getting similar production at a fraction of the cost. They also have draft picks to use in an extremely deep WR draft pool. If they can plug their holes along the offensive line, I don't think it's going to make much of a difference who they put out there at WR. That's not their game and that's definitely not how they won the division last season either. |

I swear, Dave Gettleman wakes up every morning and has a retard sandwich for breakfast.

It's going to be weird seeing him in different uniform but I wish my boy the best.
