Depends on how you sort. I would say Guaranteed and S. Bonus effect us the most.. But hey, if arguably the 3rd/4th best QB in the league is making the 4th highest average in the middle of the contract.. I would say Loomis was spot frikken on in terms of value for this contract.

To me that just means that if they were all cut today, Brees would be 8th in the pecking order.

So many variables. Guaranteed money can be misleading due to length of contract.

A guy guaranteed 20 million over two years is more expensive than a guy guaranteed 30 million over 4.

But as you said, Brees' average places him 4th in the league for QB's, and thats about market value IMO.

Brees' contract just makes other teams have to overpay for mediocre talent at QB on their teams. I love it!
