The Sean Payton Mock Draft
OK. last year was the Rob Ryan draft. This year I think Loomis and Payton focus on whatever Sean wants.
1. Odell Beckham Jr, WR, LSU 2. Marcus Martin, OC, USC 3. Stanley Jean-Baptiste, CB, Nebraska (OK, he throws Ryan a bone) 4. Ryan Grant, WR, Tulane 5. Aaron Murray, QB, Georgia 5. De'Anthony Thomas, RB Oregon 6. Some unknown O-lineman from some school you never heard of. |
Re: The Sean Payton Mock Draft
I'm personally not a fan of the D'anthony Thomas pick, but I love the rest of that draft.

I'm just happy for use to have all your draft picks for the first time in years.

Re: The Sean Payton Mock Draft
I'm coming around to the thought of developing Aaron Murray. Idc for DeAnthony Thomas, but I wouldn't be upset with the pick. I don't trust USC players, but I'll take your word for it. Odell Beckham? Come on home bro.

Re: The Sean Payton Mock Draft
Alot of our Mocks have Ryan Grant, seems like a natural fit right?
|
Re: The Sean Payton Mock Draft
I can't see us using a draft pick on a QB since Payton liked Griffin enough to keep him on the roster so he wouldn't be taken from our PS. But what I do like is the thought of having a true number one WR.

Re: The Sean Payton Mock Draft
For the record de'anthony Thomas is from Oregon not USC but I'd love him on the team. The next Darren Sproles

On Aaron Murray; I live in Georgia so I've seen/heard a lot of this kid and I like him. More than McCarron, Mettendoucher or any of the other guys projected in front of him. Heck, he may go UDFA which I would love to pick up... |
Re: The Sean Payton Mock Draft
I don't like the RB pick, and I don't like not taking a LB of some sort at some point. I also do not like the idea that we are definitely picking a QB this year, as some suggest. I think that there are probably a couple QBs that Payton and Loomis like and will keep an eye on them in case they drop a bit, as several QBs in recent memory have done, but I do not think that QB is or should be viewed as a need this year to the extent that we are dead set on coming away with one.

Re: The Sean Payton Mock Draft
If we're going wide first I'd prefer Jordan Matthews from vanderbilt

Re: The Sean Payton Mock Draft
I could live with it but it would not get me all excited about next year

Re: The Sean Payton Mock Draft
Murray is the perfect developmental quarterback for our offense. He has a lot of Drew Bree's qualities.
I wouldn't be disappointed at all with that draft... though I'd still like to wait until the second or third day for a receiver. Going to keep bringing up Dozier and Turner's name as I feel both will be good players in this league. I want to draft Evans and/or Grubbs eventual replacement this year. |

This is a Mock Draft that I put together the other night. I'm no expert, just a huge DIE HARD SAINTS and Football fan.

Murray is good and all but I'd rather se another DL or LB there.
