Look' Here To See Where Our New Safety Ranks...
B/R NFL 1000: Top 75 Safeties | Bleacher Report
Wow. That signing really got people's attention... So does the chemistry make Vaccaro and Byrd better?!? |
Re: Look' Here To See Where Our New Safety Ranks...
Seeing Byrd and Vaccaro is what can't wait to see next year

Re: Look' Here To See Where Our New Safety Ranks...
3 top 12 safeties :bng:
Stats vs Saints Cam Newton: 4/23 16 yards 0 TD 7INT |
Re: Look' Here To See Where Our New Safety Ranks...
I was more surprised about Bush being # 12..... I mean I'm happy about that, but he didn't stand out to me until he got flagged for raping Harvin in the playoff game.

Re: Look' Here To See Where Our New Safety Ranks...
It's going to be very exciting watching these guys play next season. :bng:

Re: Look' Here To See Where Our New Safety Ranks...
I honestly hope we run a 4-2-5 or 3-3-5 I just want all three of these safety's on the field with Byrd playing center field Vacarro doing everything needed and Bush coming in the box and bring the wood.

Re: Look' Here To See Where Our New Safety Ranks...
Rapheal Bush is really good. Idk about being #12 in the NFL, which is why I don't follow these rankings, but he's got the potential to be that. He's really fast for a safety. Plus he can lay the lumber. He's faster then Harper and Jenkins, hits harder then them, and covers better then Harper, and probably better then Jenkins.

Re: Look' Here To See Where Our New Safety Ranks...
Does anyone have a Kenny Vaccaro highlight tape
|
Re: Look' Here To See Where Our New Safety Ranks...
Let's see how he handles the new division.

A 75 page slideshow? Are you freaking kidding me?
Can I get a recap? |
Re: Look' Here To See Where Our New Safety Ranks...
I hope vacaro and byrd don't have a demolition derby and hurt each other going for the pick.

Our defense is going to be a turn over machine.......especially with the D-line applying the pressure. Now then just give me another good corner and we'll be dominant.:bng:

Combining both strong and free safeties is like combining tackles and guards.

Well put... Although nowadays the position designations are becoming less and less relevant. Some teams just have left and right safeties with different coverage duties. It's becoming less common to have a single high free safety while the strong safety plays in the box all the time. |

Most L/R safeties are in primarily cover-2 schemes. |
Re: Look' Here To See Where Our New Safety Ranks...

That's true about Cover 2 schemes. I think it's broken down far more than that though. Vaccaro is essentially a strong safety but he's been used as a Cover 1 free safety and as a nickel back... That's just one player though but I think there are plenty of teams that situationally use both safeties in different ways. |

Sharper was the catalyst in '09 that brought us home a Superbowl.:bng: |

Absolutely. Byrd is almost strictly a single high free safety. Vaccaro will move around though from a Cover 2 deep strong safety to an in-the-box strong safety ala Roman Harper. Mix in Bush when it comes to 3 safety looks and all bets are off when it comes to traditional safety designations. |
Re: Look' Here To See Where Our New Safety Ranks...
Shhhh! About Bush til he is signed, everyone focus back on Graham. If we lose Bush I am going to be sick!

I'm positive Bush isn't going anywhere! Our coaches probably had huge smiles on their faces watching the Seahawks receivers crap their pants whenever Bush was about to hit them in that playoff game! |
Re: Look' Here To See Where Our New Safety Ranks...
Anybody know if Bush signed his tender, What is he waiting for...
|
Re: Look' Here To See Where Our New Safety Ranks...
Nautically Byrd will be a better Safety next to Vaccarro than say Jonathan Meeks.
