Former Georgia quarterback Aaron Murray tells ESPN he'd 'gladly' back up New Orleans Saints' Drew Brees

Imagine how hot Katherine Webb would look wearing Black & Gold!!

Former Georgia quarterback Aaron Murray and former Alabama quarterback A.J. McCarron both told ESPN they wouldn't mind backing up current New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees.

"I'll gladly back up Drew for a few years," Murray told ESPN. "That's fine with me. He's my favorite quarterback."

McCarron, who said he's met both Brees and Saints coach Sean Payton, thinks backing up the Super Bowl-winning quarterback would be "a great situation."

Both NFL draft prospects were at ESPN's headquarters Wednesday and had high praise for the Saints signal caller.

Several analysts expect McCarron and Murray to be selected in the middle rounds of the draft.

You sure about that? I hear your draft stock has been rising lately.. We might have to take you in the 5th.

If you scored higher than I did on the Wonderlic go ahead and put your home up for sale and quit your day job.

AJ is a winner and a leader. He just has mediocre physical skills.
AJ can become an Alex Smith type QB, with a little less running ability.
Game manager, and probably a very good one.

Haven't seen enough of Murray to compare his skillset to a current player. I've read he compares to Andy Dalton?

I dont want to waste a pick on a clipboard holder.

I hope not. I've been telling teams the truth. I will ONLY hold the clipboard. Not interested in getting in the game at all but want to be considered a backup QB. And while I will hold the clipboard there will be times where I will put it down and walk into the stands to buy a beer. But I'll return after that. Oh, and I will need to always stand with the Saintsations. I like them.

If I happen to get too many beers in the first half I will probably not be back for the second half. It just depends. Also I've been working hard on my 34 handicap golf game so I won't have time for much practices with the team. Besides holding a clipboard doesn't require much practice.

I take a 2 week vacation in September. That isn't negotiable. And the holidays of Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas weekends are out of the question so they will need a backup clipboard holder.

With this knowledge I would say that I can hold the clipboard 1/3 of the season usually about 1/2 of the time per game.

That sounds like 7th round to me.

He compares a lot to Drew imo... a lot. Size, arm strength, accuracy, smarts, ability to progress through their reads, make check downs when throws aren't there, etc.

I'm a fan. I'm a big fan. I think if Payton and Drew got their hands on this kid, he will be a successful quarterback down the road. I don't care to burn a pick on a quarterback either but if he's there at the right pick for us, I want him.

I think he tied Aaron Brooks in the Wonderslick... That means he is a lock for the Failclowns!
