Annnnnd PT gives up meat

Wonder how long it lasts. Arian Foster is another vegetarian RB in the NFL, he has had only 2 seasons out of 5 where he has played in 14 or more games and 2 of those were 8 or less.

Only for a month. I'll give him a week until he breaks down and sings his teeth into a juicy steak or burger. C'mon man!

Whatever works for him, hope it pays off physically although I'd never be able to go vegetarian

I went without sex for a few months once.

It wasn't intentional, but nevertheless...

Are you somehow tying Foster's injury concerns to his vegetarianism?

Cuz that's really f*ckin' silly.

Actual tweet from Foster yesterday:

Quote:

Arian Foster ‏@ArianFoster 23h

Haven't been strictly vegan for over a year now, tried bacon for the first time. And oh my god. Turkey bacon just doesn't do it.
Once you've gone bacon you never go back.

That's because being vegan was suspected in his slow recovery times and constant injuries.

Not as silly as your ignorant assuming prepubescent reply.

Vegan and Vegetarian athletes face different challenges than meat eating athletes in regards to nutrient intake and recovery from injury.

Re: Annnnnd PT gives up meat

A vegetarian can get all of the nutrients they need without eating meat. What exactly can they get from eating meat that they can't get in supplement form?

How was what he said ignorant and making assumptions when you are talking about exactly what he said?! Either he's pissed you off recently or that was just way out of line.

My Dad was kinda John Wayne and would say "...just don't trust a man that doesn't eat meat..."

He fumbles this season, you can bet that his vegan experimentation will be revisited...

Is that the on-screen version of John Wayne or the real life version because the on-screen version would've been talking steak, but the real life John Wayne... Well it's no secret what kind of meat he preferred. Just like James Dean.

Just giving up meat on Fridays for Lent was pretty tough. Good luck PT. You better invest in a lot of toilet paper because you will be dumpin it out on the regular.

Re: Annnnnd PT gives up meat

I did it for a year(stille ate fish), wasn't really a issue most of the time. Its easy to stay fit and healthy these days without meat. Getting good quality protein isnt a issue.

I did enjoy some prawns, steak and eggs the day I finished though.

Well John Wayne died with 40 pounds of compacted fecal matter in his colon so maybe PT has the right idea.

Don't get me wrong, I love red meat, my favorite thing in the world is cut up a pound of sausage, brown in the skillet and eat it just like that, the whole pound with a couple of beers. And I'm sure it will kill me early. But I can understand why somebody would think about giving it up.

Life is intended to be lived... Not tolerated or endured. ;)

Man was given incisors and toothpicks because all food should be en brochette.

John Wayne died of cancer in 1979, cancer treatment back then included a lot of pain killers..... Painkillers = constipation.... Which will eventually lead to painful impaction.

Colonic lore
http://snopes.com/horrors/gruesome/fecalcolon.asp

40 pounds ? Think about that for a moment. Sand having a greater specific gravity than feces, now think of the size of a 40lb bag of sand.... In your torso... Impossible to accumulate without extreme disfigurement. Google 40lb tumor.

What I find surprising is the gay communities lack of respect for a persons privacy after their death, or what relevance his preferences are nearly 35 years after his death.

What John Wayne had in either end of his body in life or in death is much like Gods work. Large on stories, small on evidence.

Think 80 year old Texas cattle ranch owner and what image comes to mind? Thin and weather beaten, not jaba the hut because they eat bacon and beef every day for breakfast and dinner.

The argument that humans were not intended to eat meat because of the construction of their intestines is a bill of crap. Mans intestinal length puts him between the 20-1 herbivores and 3-1 cats.

Omnivore

I'm sorry, I am trying to read this and eat a bacon-wrapped ribeye and it's hard to concentrate. ;)

I was joking about John Wayne's 40 pounds of poop. That's just an urban legend. Nobody could carry around an extra 40 pounds of anything.

They've got a name for everything.
I've never heard of Pescatarian. The first thing I noticed about the word is that "scat" is in the spelling.

You can get vitamin B12 deficiency if you're a vegan (meaning you don't eat any animal products, including meat, milk, cheese, and eggs) or a vegetarian who doesn't eat enough eggs or dairy products to meet your vitamin B12 needs.
Babies born to mothers who are vegetarians may also not get enough vitamin B12.
Symptoms of Vitamin B12 Deficiency

A deficiency of vitamin B12 can lead to vitamin B12 deficiency anemia. A mild deficiency may cause only mild, if any, symptoms. But if untreated, it may cause symptoms such as:
  • Weakness, tiredness, or light-headedness
  • Rapid heartbeat and breathing
  • Pale skin
  • Sore tongue
  • Easy bruising or bleeding, including bleeding gums
  • Stomach upset and weight loss
  • Diarrhea or constipation
Vitamin B12 deficiency treatment depends on the cause.
If pernicious anemia or a problem with absorption is the cause, you'll need to replace vitamin B12, usually by injection, or by prescription.
If the issue is that you don't eat animal products, you can change your diet or take supplements.
For most people, treatment resolves the problem. But any nerve damage that happened due to the deficiency could be permanent.
Vitamin B12 Deficiency: Causes, Symptoms, and Treatment

Silly vegan. Meat is for humans.
