Curious question about this draft.

I've heard it called "deep".

Is it deep as in the quality of player that can normally be found at 15 be found at 30? Or is it a draft where the quality of player that can be found at 75 can be found all the way into 120?

Or both?

From all I've read and heard there seems to be a larger number of players that grade out as 2nd and 3rd rounders than usual.

Pisses me off they moved it back. What was the logic behind that anyway. At least we are only a lil over 2 months away from training camp!

I feel like I'm in the twilight zone where time has slowed down to a crawl. Although, theoretically this give Payton even more time to game plan for the upcoming season. Both he and Ryan have a lot of new toys to scheme and play with. I can't wait to see how the Saints look back on the field confident in their abilities to out play opponents. The term Swagger comes to mind.

I wonder which is longer? Is it waiting on the draft, training camp, kick off or that seemingly endless week between games? At least now we have pre draft discussions to help ease the pain.

All I can say is I'm tired of this god awful ground hog day scenario and I really need my football!:bang:

Please no trade up in first round the saints under nfl average amount of draft picks last few years. Now this has been made up some by the outstanding job of recruiting some very good rookie ufda players past few years. However UFDA players only go so far making up the gap.i would be ok with a trade out of first round for say some teams 2nd 4th 5th round picks say from 27th to say around 35th to 40th pick range plus another teams4 an 5th round picks. An yes i hate the fact the draft was pushed back as to me it should be over an we should be talking about what ufda gems the Saints recruited.

Thats what I keep reading. Not as many 5-star guys in this years draft, but about twice as many 4-star guys as normal.

Thats why I would be OK with either trading up for a 5-star guy, or trade down for an extra 4-star guy.

One 5-star and two 4-star prospects are probably about equal to four 4-star guys.

I love this year, there are so many different ways for us to go. Numerous players, numerous positions, trade up, trade down, stay put...

We have lots of options.

Reports are the Brown are looking for another first rounder. I'd be on the phone with them right now. I'd ask for there 2nd and 3rd rounder or there 2nd, 4th and 5th rounders.

Here are what you could get for out 27th

2014 NFL Draft Trade Value Chart

Our 27th is worth 680 points.

You could grab 2nd (35), and 4th (106), 4th (127) = 677 points

If this draft is as deep as people say you would end up with the below 'theoretically...

However... and its a huge however as deep as this draft is there will be a price to pay and I will bet its going to be an auction with the winning team getting a bit less than the value of their 1st rounder.
2nd (35)
2nd (58)
3rd (91)
4th (106)
4th (126)
4th (127)
5th (167)
5th (169)
6th (202)

They better not jump out of the first. That'll make Thursday stink. And it's been long enough. Draft Bigbird for all I care but draft on day one!

impulse/emotional purchases.. usually end up being associated with much regret.

Lets do this right for the sake of getting it right and not draft another first rounder because our kid likes a guy :):bng:

The depth is from the amount of bull**** being written about it. This extra time has brought about at least seventy-two- seventy-three million more words.

Re: 9h:3m Till The 2014 NFL Draft

Breaking down the history of Sean Paytons drafts 1-2 round picks.

First Round
2 Offense
6 Defense
or
1 S
1 DE
2 DB
1 DT
1 WR
2 RB

Second Round I expect this one to get traded away, he has only used it 3 times in 8 years.
1 Offense
2 Defense
or
1 T
2 DB

It definitely makes a lot of sense to trade back out of the first.

More pics, better chance at landing a hopeful.
