That Brandin Cook video made me almost feel sorry for whoever we face this season. He has a special talent and a work ethic like drew. Its going to be a magical season. Who Dat.

Full disclosure, this was the guy I wanted since January so I am a little biased. As his stock started moving up I was disappointed that he wouldn't be there when we drafted but basically giving a 3rd rounder for the 2nd best WR in the draft has me pretty happy.

Here is why I believe he is the second best WR in this draft, and the highlights video posted shows all of this: sprinter speed, shifty, great hands, catches with his hands and not his body, great feet awareness, second level acceleration, plays taller than he is, not afraid of the middle of the field.

This kid is the full package. A lot of people say he is Desean Jackson without the off field issues......I see him more as Steve Smith without the piss poor attitude and we all know what Steve Smith has done when he wasn't pissy.

I still spell Robert Meachum wrong. I have too many other things to remember to try and get all these guys names right. Especially with those names today.


Anyway here is another note it is pronounced GENE Baptiste like blue jean, not the French pronunciation like we have here. I think he may wind up embracing the French pronunciation though after he finds out how cool Nola is.

The knock on Cooks, if there is one, is that he is not good against press coverage. But I'm sure Payton will do various things (like motion him) to get him an unencumbered release off the line.
