New Orleans Saints are better, but San Francisco 49ers look like team to beat in NFC
The NFL draft has come and gone, and for the most part, give or take a late veteran addition or two, the 2014 New Orleans Saints' roster is set.
Between free agency and the draft, the Saints have added 10 players to the roster in the offseason. They'll add a dozen or so college free agents in the days ahead. They might bring back Jonathan Goodwin to compete for the club's starting center spot. But otherwise, these are your Saints. Love them or leave them, these are the Bless You Boys that will wage war on Sundays this fall. There's little question the Saints are a better team with Champ Bailey, Jairus Byrd, Erik Lorig, Brandin Cooks and Stanley Jean-Baptiste on the roster. But the key question remains: Are they improved enough to overtake the kingpins of the NFC? Can they vault from the NFC wild card to NFC champion? Re: New Orleans Saints are better, but San Francisco 49ers look like team to beat in NFC
QB - Saints
RB - 49ers WR - 49ers TE - Stalemate T - 49ers G - Saints C - Stalemate DE - Saints NT - Saints OLB - 49ers ILB - 49ers CB - Saints S - Saints We just barely edge them out in my opinion. Our secondary is better as well as our dline, but their linebackers are all elite. They're wide receiver core is better then ours with the addition of Stevie Johnson to line up in the slot with Anquan Boldin and Michael Crabtree on the outside, but if Stills makes the strides I think he can and Cooks has a big impact we could definitely even things up. Jimmy Graham and Vernon Davis are what and what. Personally, I prefer Davis. RB is a spot I could also see us being better then them at by the end of the year, and possibly tackle depending on the development of Armstead and if Strief remains consistent or improves again. |

Give Vernon Davis Drew Brees instead of Alex Smith and Colin Kaepernick and I'm thinking his numbers look just like Grahams if not better. Plus you don't have to take Davis out when you want to run the ball.

I saw Vernon Davis put the nail in the coffin on us in the playoffs. He just seems to be the better player to me. Disagreeing is cool. I just know who I'd rather have. I prefer the speed anyway.

9ers had a good draft, but they're gonna lose Aldon Smith for a while and who knows what's gonna happen with Crapernick and this sexual assault charge. I still think Seattle is the team to beat in the NFC.

If they crack down on all that defensive holding and pass interference they do, which I actually condone, they wouldn't be the team to beat anymore.

A lot of "Ifs" in this thread... If Davis had Brees; If they stop all the holding and interference...
