Jacob Hester, Jordan Jefferson trying to make Saints roster

There are several other notable players in the tryout list, including former first-round draft pick Jamaal Anderson (defensive lineman from Arkansas), former Carolina Panthers receiver Armanti Edwards and former Florida Atlantic quarterback Rusty Smith.

Hester, who was a third-round draft pick of the Sam Diego Chargers in 2008, played four seasons at fullback with the Chargers before playing one season with the Denver Broncos in 2012. He was not on an active NFL roster in 2013.

Jefferson, a Desterhan resident who played quarterback at LSU, has not played a regular-season game in the NFL. He was signed by Tampa Bay as an undrafted free agent in 2012 but did not stay on the roster long. He did participate in LSU's most recent pro day.

I don't think Hester or Jefferson make the team. A couple of years ago I would have been excited to see this article. Now it's just kind of interesting.

I couldn't stand Jefferson or Hester. Both were Les Miles favs and got playing time just for that. I kno a lot of ppl are going to disagree with me especially with Hester but he was "average" at best for collegiate football. Jefferson was just a train wreck.

At least Hester managed to remain on a NFL roster for several seasons. Jefferson barely had time to strap on a uniform.

I've never met an LSU fan that had distain for Hester. He was a hell of a football player for LSU. In his 1 season where he started at running back for LSU, he rushed for over a thousand yards and 12 scores. He got playing time because he was productive, respected by everyone(team captain), and worked harder than his counterparts... not because he was the teachers pet. Get it right. He earned his playing time out working players who had far superior talent than he did.

don't know why all the bad yap on hester, the man had a heart like secretariat. gave his all, what hurts his ability in nfl is that he was a north-south hammer with no assattall. if he had some weight to his heart he would be still on a roster. now as for Jefferson, get a CDL cat and get on with life.
