New Orleans Saints S Kenny Vaccaro looks like he is getting healthier for the regular season. He attended Ben Grubbs charity softball game and was looking healthy. He didn’t even have a wrap on his ankle that he fractured last season. He was not talking to the media on the day, but it sounds like he is making progress toward the season.

Vaccaro will be a big part of the Saints defense when they get back on the field. He played great in his time on the field last season before he went down with the injury. The team will be hoping that he can build on that performance in the coming season. The biggest growth a player can make is from his rookie season to his sophomore season. The league will be adapting to the way he plays and he will need to make an impact on the field.

I don’t see Vaccaro having any issues when he returns to the field. He is a great talent and knows how to get to the football. He should be ready to go soon and it will be fun to see him back on the field hitting some people.

I'll be honest, I worry a little bit about Vaccaro conforming to a traditional safety position. So much of his success last year was in being able to move him around a lot. I hope Rob Ryan lets him continue to do that because the kid is a true weapon on defense. Especially when you can't predict what he'll be doing on any given snap.

I do believe that Ryan will continue to deploy him in different looks. I think that's part of the reason why we kept Rafael Bush. He doesn't have to be a traditional safety with such a stacked secondary. He can play linebacker if he has to. I love Vaccaro. I think even if he is relegated to a traditional role, then he will handle that well, too. He's just so talented.

I think he can play the traditional strong safety and be just as dangerous as lining him up in multiple spots, especially with a better free safety in Byrd back there. Last year he showed he can cover tight ends really well unlike someone and cover some decent receivers. He's a beast in the run game already. That boy has the potential and instincts to be a multi time pro bowler.

I more worried about him and getting his bell rung, and sitting out for the game. Or even the next week.

see i am worried about him as a traditional SS if there is such a thing any more. maybe bird man will help him with producing some INTs. he was not draft because he was a turnover machine.

Kenny is a great read and react safety and that why i like him all over the place in the box. has the IQ to know when to turn and run with a receiver. that is rare. now if he was 6-3 245 we would be talking all pro LB material

it will be interesting to see what happens.

Vaccaro can play multiple positions. Sunseri can play multiple positions. With Byrd behind them, this secondary has the potential to be great.
