distractions are not the issue here. he is a one trick pony that never lived up to his draft position. his production clearly results in the term flop for him. thank god he can block better than most of our WR and TE. that is his only saving grace.

And that has exactly ZERO to do with his "mentally free" comment.;)

Meachem was never a number one receiver anyway, thinking he was a Number 1 WR was the chargers 3rd worst decision they've made, think we all can work out the other 2 lol

He does bring a good level of experience to the table. The question is can he beat out the younger players for a spot on the 53. We have some really good talent in camp this year and I don't know if Sean Payton is going to keep him around. The young guns look ready to take his spot.

You can bash Meach all day, but, his strip and score in the Washington game is still one of the best plays in Saints history.

I agree he never lived up to #1 pick expectations, but, he made some plays and helped us win a Superbowl, so, he has my gratitude. And if Payton thinks he is good enough for this team, I'm sold.

Sometimes it's better to keep your mouth shut and be thought an idiot, than to open it and remove all doubt! ;)

Re: Wide receiver Robert Meachem 'mentally free' in first offseason back with New Orleans Saints

he was drafted as a #1 WR that did not pan out
charges signed him to be a #1 and that did not pan out. which i laughed about and warned charger bolt about what they had signed.
Now he again has a one year contract and no real expectations put on him so he feels mentally free.

thats the story. when it comes to Robert there I see no reason to get excited it no matter the view point. he will get his handful of plays and that it.

would I love to see him make an bigger impact? heck yeah but at this point I do not i would not bank on it.

If you want to buy into the rest of the fluff go ahead

now i will admit that was a great play. but if he is here he is here. if he is not so be it also.
