Can Any Team Stop the Seattle Seahawks in 2014-15?
 

New Orleans Saints (20-1 odds)

It is hard to call them a “dark horse” but I believe this Saints team has every possibility to knock-off the Seattle Seahawks and win the whole thing as anyone.

STRENGTHS: As stated above, to beat Seattle and their tremendous secondary will take a good deal of balance. I am contradicting myself here as no one will claim the Saints are balanced offensive force. In fact a much more logical argument can be made for the Green Bay Packers being a threat with a healthy Arron Rodgers and we will see how that plays out the first week of the season. But the domination New Orleans with a top flight quarterback such as Drew Brees has at home and the versatility of their receivers in Jimmy Graham, Marques Colston and company including a rookie receiver in Brandin Cooks who some believe was a steal) , I believe presents basic match-up problems for even a team as talented as Seattle.

WEAKNESS: A lack of solid established running game as stated above.

OVERALL: It is a long shot, probably, but I am going to offer New Orleans as a team that can legitimately challenge the dominance of Seattle if all factors fall their way.

We can do it. I remember the "Can any team knockoff the Saints..." articles after our Super Bowl win. Back to back hasn't been done in a long time.

Arizona
Philadelphia
St Louis
Detroit

They could all legitimately knock out Seattle, especially if the league stops letting them grab and hold.

Granted the road to the Superbowl still probably goes through Seattle but they make it seem as if they're so invincible. If the Rams got some decent quarterback play, Robert Quinn inc. has a chance to compete for the division. The Saints as a "dark horse" is a joke. Heck Arizona beat Seattle in Seattle last year.

The author needs to wipe those stains off his face.

I remember alot of hype about Green Bay when they seemed to have steam rolled everyone. Not the same team and its a different year.
For now let Seattle feels special...

Injuries, player attitudes after becoming champions, unexpected plays, weird calls, no-calls, etc. all factor into it. Seattle is no more of lock for HFA in the NFC as any other team at the top of the conference. Confidence is good, over confidence is not.

lets be honest here, seattle was a team that had the some seriously good luck last year. several teams had them on the ropes and by the grace of the football gods alone they came away with a win. Remember what if Colston went out of bounds and SP played it safe? More than one team can clam that mistake last year against them. they can be beat

the ball bounced their way all of last year. many a super bowl team had this kind of luck and won it all. but that was last year and lady luck is is fickle. she a ten cent road whore and she turns at a drop of a dime. (going old school here :beatnik:)

Simple DO NOT go back to the west coast in the playoffs.

SEA gets at best 10-6 this year.

Since they are so hyped everyone will be gunning for them. All they did this off-season was get worse. Their bread and butter was turnovers and that is hard to produce year after year.

I sure would like us to give a fit to Seattle like they have us. Lynch and his run that no Saint on the field could not tackle, or the beatdown last season, not to mention the playoff game, which I could at least say that was respectable but still a loss. Lets face it, they have owned us. This year Payton should get his chance to look across the field and look at Carroll again. Saints better man up!!

It's true that Seattle is good. But I believe that we have the weapons on offense and defense to beat them. And with the improvements on special teams I think we are the team to beat.

Seattle has lost some key players on both sides of the ball. I forget who they were but they don't look to be as good this year as last. While our Saints have added talent. So I look for us to be better this season and in the hunt for the SB, while Seattle becomes an also ran. Maybe sneaking in to the playoffs as a wildcard.

Who has a more explosive offense?
When their team needs a score at the end?

Lock down corners and shut down beast mode

If our line is solid and a respectable run game then we will move on them
Can't make mistakes

Cooks may make that secondary a little more porous

Also if the league decides that perhaps Officials have been holding those flags in their pockets everytime a receiver gets mugged off the line aganst Seattle, things could look a lot different

I have a feeling we will be meeting them n the playoffs and hopefully it's n the dome !!!! But we can beat them in Seattle if drew Bree's coulda have got the offense going just a lil we could have beat them last year
