No Graham no Sproles
Hey everyone first post here, after trying to join another saints forum but never being allowed I'm here! Now hear me out a bit.
Could it be beneficial to not have Graham at camp/otas etc. Only reason I can see this, is you know he's going to come back and be on top of his game. With his absence, Brees will have to focus on his other receivers more and possibly that will have a nice effect going into the regular season. Same with Sproles to a certain extent, he's just not coming back... thoughts? |
Re: No Graham no Sproles
Welcome to B&G and you make a good point. Both Graham and Sproles have been extremely frequent targets of Brees, but the additional time spent with the others could prove to be a net gain.

Re: No Graham no Sproles
I think it's great we're getting Josh Hill a lot of reps.

Re: No Graham no Sproles
No Graham no Sproles = no problem
Also welcome to the Forum; LiveChat on gameday is the best!! |

I also think Cooks is going to be a better version of Sproles. |

Welcome a board.

Re: No Graham no Sproles
Oh yeah, according to some of us, the absence of Sproles and Graham will only make us better. Others are rather militantly opposed to Jimmy being MIA. Personally, I'm glad Sproles is gone and think Graham not being around is helping Drew get to know the other receivers out there better. I'm more missing Cooks right now.

Re: No Graham no Sproles
no biggie. Drew has a bunch of young pups he needs to train.

Welcome!!

Re: No Graham no Sproles
Thanks for the welcomes guys. I am looking forward to seeing cooks get in here. Rather than our tried and true screens to PT we now have a nice option of some WR screens to him. Our offense is going to be killer this year

Re: No Graham no Sproles
All of a sudden we have a plethora of receivers.

Re: No Graham no Sproles
Welcome to the best but lesser known Saint's forum. And if JG wants to keep being a complete poo head, he can watch us win the SB on his momma's couch.

Re: No Graham no Sproles
Nice comment right out of the shoot...
Without these 2, it gives the offense a chance to both gain trust in the route running/timing/etc and give a few of the bubble WR/RB/TE folks an opportunity to show what they can do in these OTAs. Drew often relied too heavily on Graham and Sproles in certain spots and defenses knew it. An NFL defense can shut down 2 "go-to guys" at a time with a coverage scheme; an NFL defense CANNOT shut down 4-5 "go-to guys" at a time with a coverage scheme. Doesn't bother me at all Sproles & Graham aren't here in OTA's... |

What were they thinking? Who is he? Where did he come from? What has he EVER done? We sign Ben Watson and waste plays on Josh Hill instead. I don't ever want him to play for us again, that's how badly he failed in just a few plays.... Alright, I'm glad I let that out. |

Did you miss the 6 catches he had in the regular season? Did you know the coaches love how he plays special teams? Did you miss his 2 catches in post-season? One for 9 yards against Philly and 1 for 23 yards against Seattle. Did you know he was an UDFA? Hell he performed better against Seattle than Jimmy Graham did.:p You wanna give up on a guy that has performed way better than most rookie UDFA's do? I'd rather see how he progresses then decide if he's worth keeping or dumping. |

Re: No Graham no Sproles
We'll be better to practice with one hand tied behind our back... Drew Can Relearn how to hit a receiver in stride instead of not throwing to them unless they are " Jimmy Graham " open ( Via Size Advantage They Don't Have ). I mean With Graham Being out So Far all we are hearing is how much greater Kenny Stills can be.
And that's BEFORE cooks lines up opposite Stills. He should only get even more open when Cooks Arrives and Deadly Open when Graham comes off his Rag. Is it Crazy to Say he Is Randy Mosslike ? That One Hander against the Texans took me back. We can have a passing attacks Similar to Green Bays a few years back where they rarely utilized their TE ( 15-1 Season ) except we would have much more speed on our WR Core. Stills a 4.3 Guy , Cooks a 4.3 Guy , Morgan a 4.3 Guy , Should Toon or Hawkins Put it Together Nicely Coleman and Colston would be our Slowest Guys both having a major Size advantage Similar to Grahams. Not To Mention the Fear that put into Defenses would keep that extra saftey out the box , so Robinson and Ingram would have a field day with a 1 on 1 to get to the 2nd Level , Both of which I have never seen tackled by just 1 guy. This is the 1st year I've seen that we have the CHOICE to either Finesse or Steamroll people. A balance of both would be Art. |
