New Orleans Saints safety Jairus Byrd named top-3 in NFL
There’s a reason why the Saints were willing to give Byrd a six-year, $56-million contract this offseason, and it certainly wasn’t because of the calming influence he brings to the locker room. Instead, the sometimes-unhappy safety got a big payday because he’s one of the most-versatile players at his position. He has the cover skills to stick with tight ends and wide receivers (see 22 career interceptions), but can also deliver a punch in the run game.

they were talking about byrd this week here locally, yes he cost the mother load but this guy may be the steal of free agency with what he brings our defense with his cover skills and his ability to make or cause turnovers. we are a defense to be reckoned with, the best on paper for sure.

Drew is good at spreading the ball around. well not so much last year. he over used Jimmy IMO maybe due to the fact that he had so many new faces at WR last year. i am looking at Drew going back to his old ways and spreading the ball around even more. his dependance on his wobbie blanket (Jimmy) should become less with familiarity of the WR once again. so no top ten WR for the saints yet again next year.

Who is Cover32? Never heard of him before. I love this ****. Somebody posts an opinion and everyone else sits around either just plain butt hurt, arguing against it, or both. I'm thinking they put names in a hat, pulled'em out, then figured out how to justify each pick. So, if you like arguing opinions, here's some more for ya'll:
Best Saints QB of all time? -We haven't drafted him yet. Best LB? -We haven't signed him yet. LB crew that'll throw the Dome Patrol into ancient history? -Just around the bend. Best all time Saints D? Gonna be here any season now. See what I'm sayin'? |
