Saints' "emergency" QB
Which player will be the Saints' emergency QB this season? It has been Lance Moore for the past 5 or 6 seasons, but he is a Steeler now. Which player would assume that mantle should something happen to Brees and the backup QB, and they could not finish the game?

Re: Saints' "emergency" QB
Cadet played QB in high school and I believe some QB his first year at App. State, if both McCown and Griffin are not on the roster I believe he would be next in line.
Edit: Yep Travaris Cadet - Appalachian State Mountaineers | Official Athletics Site 2009: ... was slated to be ASU's third quarterback going into the season but was the backup behind DeAndre Presley for the opener at East Carolina due to an injury suffered by starter Armanti Edwards during the offseason ... after ASU fell into a 29-7 hole, Cadet made his debut with 5:28 remaining in the third quarter and engineered three-consecutive scoring drives to cut the deficit to 29-24 ... trailing by five points with 1:28 to play, he drove the Mountaineers to midfield but the comeback bid ended when CoCo Hillary couldn't haul in his fourth-down pass with 16 seconds to go ... in just over a quarter of work, he rushed 15 times for 35 yards and a touchdown and completed 7-of-9 passes for 55 yards while nearly pulling off the come-from-behind upset at ECU ... following the season opener, he slid into the No. 2 quarterback spot and backed up Edwards for the rest of the season ... rushed 11 times for a career-high 131 yards and a touchdown and completed 4-of-7 passes for 64 yards in just a little more than a quarter at quarterback in 52-16 rout over Georgia Southern ... made his first-career start at QB a week later in regular-season finale versus Western Carolina, running 17 times for 58 yards and completing 8-of-16 passes for a career-best 101 yards ... |

Don't let it be Jimmy, then his agent will want QB money for his tag.

Re: Saints' "emergency" QB
I'm not going to think that far ahead; if our two actual QB's are out we're in deep ****...

Re: Saints' "emergency" QB
Hmm...Payton played QB in college and during the strike year...
Hebert is an elevator ride away... Colston failed his audition vs. Seattle... I vote Champ Obscure fact learned as I was looking up whether or not Morstead ever played QB: Craig James, ex-announcer, ex-poltician, ex-Pony Express RB, punted for 2 years at SMU. Now you know. |

When was the last time a team needed an EMERGENCY QB.

Re: Saints' "emergency" QB
Last emergency QB was probably Tom Tupa. Mid-90s IIRC for the Jets. I remember because he threw a TD on his first or second pass.

As long as Payton is coaching the team we'll be fine.
