Saints' Top Plays

ESPN is running a poll on each team's Top Plays.

Have fun with it; I voted for the 'Ambush'.

New Orleans Saints' top plays: Tracy Porter's Super pick - ESPN

I think the River city relay should have been an option too. Even tho Carney shanked the following XP.

I think the meachem strip and score vs washington should be there, If it wasn't for that play we may not have got homefield advantage throughout the playoffs

The guy does a good job of selling the Porter interception though, because manning had run that play 4 plays earlier and beat Tracy for a first down on a 3rd and 6, as soon as porter saw collie in motion he knew what was coming

Ambush.

The setting.
What was at stake.
The momentum it provided.

No question. Ballsiest call that entire year for any team.

Re: Saints' Top Plays

If the Saints don't recover the on-side kick, IMO the Colts will score and put the game out of reach.

Without the Ambush, there is no Porter pick 6.

Also, the Saints were down 10-6 @ halftime and went on to outscore the Colts 25-7 in the second half!

How many teams have done that?

All three plays are great choices.

I chose Porters pick 6 because at that moment, I knew after 31 years (for me) of saying "next year" were finally over and this was the year.

Unfortunately, that's probably why

Ambush. It was two handfuls, one of pure genius and the other of pure psycho. You go down in history as either a hero or a reckless coach. The stakes were about as high as it gets on that play.

Do you think Payton makes that call if Dungy is still Colts HC?

The ONLY coach he doesn't challenge is probably Parcells.

I disagree with that; remember what Payton did to Parcells in '06 in Dallas?

Ambush is the single gutsiest play ever called.
