Saints offense, Marques Colston draw unsolicited praise
Colston is one of my Top 5 all-time favorite Saints!
"He's just really intelligent, and you see him getting open and making catches that the play is not designed to do," Orlovsky said. "When you have a guy like that, 6-foot-5, 200-something pounds and is talented, he has a 9-10-11-year, high-level career." Re: Saints offense, Marques Colston draw unsolicited praise
Yup, read that article earlier today. Colston is so very unappreciated by the general media, and even by Saints fans. He is as understated as you can get. He is the Bizzaro WR ... just as good, but without the need for the constant attention.
Wow! Second Superman reference of the day. |

If that leg is good I think he's going to be set up for a monster year. Teams are going to be keying on Jimmy more and more, and with Cooks/Stills stretching the field Colston is going to have a lot of those plays where he just sits down in front of zone coverage and makes an uncontested catch.

Yeah the quiet storm . I think he is going to have a good year. It's hard to believe he has never been to the pro bowl. When he is healthy there are few in the league that are his equal..He has never been the game breaker ,but he is a baller that makes the plays when needed. And is terror in the red zone..He has had a great career and has been a class act and great teammate in Nola

Re: Saints offense, Marques Colston draw unsolicited praise
Colston is the epitome of class and letting his playing do the talking
My favorite Saint I remember when earlier in his career his was prone to really stretching out a play and getting hit and coughing up the ball. He worked really hard and developed a stronger set of hands and the smarts of knowing when to go down Why never a pro bowl? When you have a quarterback like Drew who spreads the ball around so much, getting those monster yardage years is less likely. Still putting over 1,000 yards up in our offense is impressive. I am really excited to see him come in the healthiest he's been and work with the younger speed demons |
Re: Saints offense, Marques Colston draw unsolicited praise
Some people say colston hasn't made a pro bowl because of our offense spreading the ball around so much
In 2007, just his second year he had 1268 receiving yards and 12 TD's Just goes to show how much of a popularity contest the pro bowl is when a guy putting up numbers like that doesn't get voted to it |
Re: Saints offense, Marques Colston draw unsolicited praise
He is a great example of how the national sports media screws up the game almost as bad the NFL does all by itself.

I respect that man. I bet he raises really good children.

Re: Saints offense, Marques Colston draw unsolicited praise
Sad thing is; if Colston wanted to be praised by the media and voted to the pro-bowl all he would have to do is dance around after he gets a TD. If he showed-off like the other classless WRs then he would be in the pro-bowl every year. It's sad but true, and I hope he never changes.
