C
PK
CB

These are the interesting ones to me. I would not be surprised if we end up keeping both kickers. SP has done it a couple of times in the past in a similar situation.

I fully expect Lelito to win the starting center job, but I have to admit even if Goodwin is not what he used to be, the familiarity between him and Brees could be a big advantage.

If I had to guess I'd say White wins the #2 CB, Bailey is the nickel and P-Rob is an unfortunate cap cut. and it pains me to say that because I like P-Rob a lot.

Coleman had a really bad minicamp. I don't think he'll play this year.

For me...

1) Center - Lelito or Goodwin? I Like Lelito...

2) Wide Receiver - 4, 5, maybe 6 spots? Meachem, Toon, Tanner, Morgan, Coleman? I Like Meachem, Toon, Coleman...

3) Cornerback - Toughest, Best Competition Ever...I Like Saints carrying five (5) CB's in Lewis, White, Bailey, Jean-Baptiste, Robinson; add Sweeting as the sixth...

4) Defensive Line - Like Uko to take over backup behind Jordan with Tyrunn Walker as the utility lineman...

5) Linebacker - Salaries may dictate, but I'd Like a LB Corps of Gallette, Humber, Fortt, Powell...

Payton has never kept less than 5 WR's and typically keeps 6. We kept 7 last year.

With so many spread formations I can't imagine us keeping less than 5, and we'll probably keep 6, especially if Lelito looks to be the answer at OC in pre-season.

he won't be a 'cap' cut this year unless we have a rash of injuries and burn thru $5 million

same as above
decisions can be made based on talent now that we've cleaned house

My thought is we are all-in with Champ. If he is healthy, he will start. I'd take P-Rob over White also.

QUESTION- we know Lelito gives us depth at guard as well. If Goodwin doesn't win the starting job, will he even get a roster spot?
I guess the question is, if Grubbs or Evans get hurt in a game, is the plan to move Lelito and bring in Goodwin at C, or would we dress a true guard?
