I didn't realize PT has been with the Saints 8 YEARS!!

"They talk about the average career for a running back being three years. To be playing eight years is a blessing," Thomas said. "I told the other guys that want my job, it's going to be tough because I'm going to make it tough. You're going to have to put me on the bench."

I wonder what Payton envisions Thomas role is this year. I've personally speculated that he'll be our third down back but I could also see him leading the team in rushing. I figure Ingram will be the TB on the Saints first play but after that it'll be very interesting to see which of our backs can exploit the extra running room created by our much improved and much faster receiving core.

PT is still our best all-around back when you talk about his pass blocking, catching screens and ability to make a little something out of nothing. I still see the situation being as PT is still basically the lead back, Ingram the short yardage/between the tackles guy and Robinson filling in for both when needed.

what a great rages to some what riches story he is. what a team player to boot. why in the world would not have him on your team for just those reason alone? I always said SP under values what he brings to the table and has wasted a ton of time and money trying to replace a player that will not go away.
