Blood Feud: Why I Hate the Atlanta Falcons
 

Hate is such a strong word, that I’m hesitant to ever use it unless it accurately applies to something that I hold with absolute contempt and total disgust. However, there are exceptions in some instances — and ANYTHING involving the Atlanta Falcons and their despicable fan base (after all, these are the same fans which include some that are workers at the Atlanta airport who threw eggs at the Saints’ team bus last year) falls squarely into that category. Next month when the Saints open what they hope will be a Super Bowl-winning 2014 season at the Garbage…er…Georgia Dome in Atlanta, it will also mark the 35th anniversary of the day since the very day that I’ve been able to say that truly, beyond all shadow of a doubt, that I hate the Atlanta Falcons.

Last time I checked winning 3 ****ing games of the last 16, gives them no right to even attempt to run their mouth. :rolleyes:

Many of my best Saints memories are of smacking around the Falcons. And the worst memories are of losing to them. But there is a kinship there. We are different, but we are also kind of the same. I think it's one of the most unique rivalries in sports.

A pigeon fan showed up at the Panthers camp yesterday too. He started chanting "Rise Up" loudly. I don't know if he was hoping somebody would join in but he eventually sat down and shut up.

Maybe the two incidents were organized. Two guys in two different states. That's like half the falcons fans out side the state of Georgia.

Reading that story only fuels my hatred for them. Those 2 Hail-Mary's in '78 is where it all began for me. I remember them to this day.
Every fan base has it idiots, but what sets the Foul-Cons apart is the ratio. Most teams have 90% good fans, 10% idiots. They are opposite, 90% idiots, and 10% good fans. Lastly is this, until Vick got drafted I never saw any Foul-Con gear ever. And this is at the Ft.Hood/Killeen area, where fans of every team are seen.

One of my worst memories of the Falcons beating us was either a playoff game or a game we needed to get in the playoffs. Either way our season ended with a long TD pass to speedster WR Michael Jackson. He crossed the goal line and stopped immediately turned and put his hands on his hips. Super cocky.

Their radio announcers are the best: "You know, if he would have broken 3 tackles he would have scored." "If that pass had been on target, he'd score." Hilarious!!

I lived halfway between Atlanta and Charlotte for 9 lonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnng years. It was no fun!

Whats even better is the comments under the article itself. The boiling over hatred and loathing they have for us is hilarious. And it only proves my earlier point, that most of their fans are scumbags.
