Hokie: Saints won't miss Sproles with Travaris Cadet on board
The New Orleans Saints wrapped up this week's practice with a two-hour session at the Advocare Facility at the Greenbrier in West Virginia. New Orleans will travel to St. Louis tomorrow to prepare for their first pre-season game.
Saints Color Analyst Hokie Gajan observed practice from the stands again today. "I thought it was a pretty good practice overall," Gajan said. Hokie has been impressed with the progress of Saints RB Travaris Cadet: "He's (Cadet) more than capable of replacing Darren Sproles. Cadet understands the protections and he knows what to do out there." Hokie thinks Cadet will have a very good season for the Saints. watch Cadet break one Hokie also pointed out that QB's Luke McCown and Ryan Griffin did not have great days. "I thought the QB play was just OK... but I will say that when the Saints began to work on two-minute offense that both Griffin and McCown got better in that period." Gajan thinks that Luke McCown is clearly the Saints back-up QB right now and that Griffin will be the third string QB. The Cajun Cannon Bobby Hebert was impressed with the play of DB's Patrick Robinson, Corey White and rookie Stanley Jean-Baptiste. "P-Rob has had his best camp as a Saints player. Now I want to see if he can continue to play well in the game against the Rams." read more |

Lb for lb nobody can touch Sproles. Sad he wasted his youth on a team that didn't understand his value.

I hated to see him go but we are now a better team overall because of it.

Lots of people talking up Cadet. There's got to be something there.

I hope Cadet proves me wrong. He's never impressed me. He's not little but I rarely see him break tackles and he's not a blazer either. I admit he runs with determination and I don't question his heart or toughness, I guess I don't see elite talent.

Cadet has been brilliant when called upon and is is still developing. Now he gets to prove his worth with Sproles gone. One can argue Sproles isn't elite either he fits a role that he excels at and fitted a role. |

BTW: Sproles didn't even look like the Sproles of 4 or 5 years ago. You could see a slight decline in his game last year. He's still probably a very good RB, but he's nowhere near the 2010/2011 Sproles. |

Re: Hokie: Saints won't miss Sproles with Travaris Cadet on board
had graham settled up earlier chances are we would still have Darren
Cadet has to prove it to me Kiry on the other hand - give that guy the ball start using him in the passing game too |
