saints get the 17th n 18th pick
Saints have the 17th and 18th overall picks in the NFL Draft, the 18th coming from the Miami Dolphins via the Ricky Williams trade.
Both the New Orleans Saints and Miami Dolphins finished 9-7 and out of the playoffs this season, and the two teams had the lowest opponent's win percentage of the four non-playoff contending 9-7 teams. When teams have tied overall records, the tiebreaker is the win percentage of that season's opponents. New Orleans opponents finished with a .498 win percentage, Miami opponents with .508. Two other 9-7 teams without playoff seeds are New England and Denver, whose opponents had percentages of .525 and .527 |

With the 17 & 18 pick the saints should consider a linebacker & defensive back. I don\'t believe Terrance Newman or Andre Woolfolk would be still available. So the saints should pick up E.J Henderson or Gerald Hayes & Mike Doss or Dennis Weathersby

Trading down with the 18th pick .
Henderson is the 17th if still on the board . |

The Saints should definitely trade up. Heck...one of the picks was a gift anyway. The Saints need a dominating LB. I believe that this is the only way to get one. I believe for those 2 picks they should be able to trade up to at least #5.

Henderson is the LB the Saints need .
Early mocks have him anywhere from 12th to 24th in the draft ..... |

All you guys that brought up Henderson are right. This man\'s an animal. I got to see him for the first time the other night. He had something like, 13 tackles and 3 sacks. What an addition he would be. :P

I think Henderson would be a great addition to the team, but he might be gone by the time we pick. I think that if he is gone we need to draft Mike Doss and Boss Bailey with both of our first round picks. If possible I would try to get Dennis Weathersby in the second round.

It will be premature to look for Boss Bailey in the 1st round he is too light (6-4, 218). If E.J Henderson is not availabe Gerald Hayes would be the right solution to me. He can play inside & outside with terrific agility (6-3, 245). I could understand trading down w/ 18 pick if we will stand a chance to still pick up a decent DB(Marcus Trufant, Eugene Wilson, Derrick Strait, or Ken Hamlin).

Let\'s hope Henderson is still available. With the second pick I would go after a good pass rusher, there is enough depth at defensive back in free agency. The Saints might go for a tight end with the Miami pick, although I wouldn\'t recommend it.

There is only one top notch corner i heard in free agency Chris McAlister. He will sign with the Ravens or sadly he will have the franchise tag on him. The Ravens also have alot of cap room. If anyone know of another top corner please write back. I will like to know if Tory James(Oakland Raiders) will be availabe. Aeneas Williams only have one good year left in him, so if we pick him up let it be for a one year contract.

What do you think if we trade our 17 pick and 2nd round for shawn springs and they\'re 1st round pick to pick up E.J Henderson. 18 pick use for offensive lineman Vince Manuwai

I believe the Saints will try to trade down with one of their picks, still get the player they want, and add perhaps another 2 nd round pick. Two firsts, two seconds, and two thirds. The Saints would then have the opportunity to take 6 of the top 100 players in the draft, 4 in the top 50, which doubles what most teams usually get. They need more than one or two players to turn that defense around, and they still have holes to fill on offense, namely the line and TE. Should make for a great draft.

i think they will prolly try to trade one or the other, i still believe MIKE DOSS is a good pick for the saints
