Triplett: Saints place TE Richard Quinn on retired list
The New Orleans Saints placed tight end Richard Quinn on the reserve/retired list Tuesday, just six days after they signed him to the roster. The reason for Quinn’s retirement was not immediately known.
Quinn, 27, was a second-round draft pick of the Denver Broncos in 2009, but he never panned out. He appeared in 29 games in his first two seasons but caught just one pass for 9 yards. He was then waived with a knee injury in the summer of 2011 before bouncing around with the Washington Redskins (twice), Cincinnati Bengals and Arizona Cardinals. The Saints now have a roster spot available. Saints place TE Richard Quinn on retired list - New Orleans Saints Blog - ESPN |

Wierd. I wonder if he got injured again and decided to call it quits.

I wonder if he's friends with Olen Krutz

He played for the Broncos, Bengals, Cardinals and Redskins, but he wanted to retire as a Saint.
Can't blame him for having good taste. |

He probably looked at Jimmy, Watson and Hill then decided to retire with the honor of having been a Saint. There's a good possibility that the Saints could use his spot on a versatile full back. With Lorig out we may need that spot for a player to learn this complex system.

Poor guy probably just looked at the other TE's and knew he didn't stand a chance of making the roster so he decided to pack it in. Nobody's really rushing to sign pure blocking TE's these days, and from what we saw of Nic Jacobs last week he's probably the guy to fill that niche anyway.
