22 Saints on injury list
 

Teams are understandably cautious during the preseason, so the New Orleans Saints' lengthy injury list isn't necessarily a cause for alarm.

Some players on the list would be playing if the games really counted. Quarterback Drew Brees and safety Jairus Byrd both probably fall into that category.

Some players on the list won't be on the Saints' final roster. Two have already been placed on the injured reserve. Others may be in store for an injury settlement as camp winds down in the next two weeks.

Other injuries are so unknown that it's impossible to even speculate. Fullback Erik Lorig and outside linebacker Victor Butler fall into that category.

Then there are the new ones: Receiver Marques Colston, healthy for all of camp, missed Friday's preseason game against the Titans. Cornerback Keenan Lewis and Khairi Fortt both left the game with apparent leg or foot injuries and did not return.
