Re: Report: Saints' Sean Payton may give up play-calling duties this season
Payton never said that, what he said on Carmichael, "He’s got experience. We go back to 2011, where he had most of the season and he did outstanding with that.”

Carmichael can't hold Paytons jock when it comes to play calling.

Re: Report: Saints' Sean Payton may give up play-calling duties this season
Ian Rappaport is the world's worst reporter. Practically everything he says is speculation and about zero percent of it ever turns out true.

Carmichael never really runs the ball. I believe that if we have a balanced attack we will be much tougher.

I dont get the hate for Carmichael ... when he stepped in he was great. Payton talked about turning play calling over last season as well.

Re: Report: Saints' Sean Payton may give up play-calling duties this season
In 2012, without Payton, Carmichael's offense was ranked #2 in yards and #3 in points.
It was Spag's defense that failed. Carmichael did great. |
Re: Report: Saints' Sean Payton may give up play-calling duties this season
He did a fine job. I wouldn't mind seeing what happens. Its not like Payton wouldn't step in if he needed to. It was taken out of context though.

Who cares who's calling the plays; we're kickin' ass anyway...

Re: Report: Saints' Sean Payton may give up play-calling duties this season
Is it such a slow news day that NFL.com must create fabricated stories to get clicks? I read the remarks before the article was written and it didn't even cross my mind that Payton was hinting at relinquishing play calling duties. Not to say he won't but that article takes a huge leap. True journalism is dead in America.

2009 Saints: 544 - pass 468 - run 2011 Saints 662 - pass 431 - run 2012 Saints 671 - pass 370 - run 2013 Saints 651 - pass 391 - run I believe Carmichael likes much more of a passing attack than a balanced attack. 2009 Superbowl champs were much more balanced |
