Jimmy will Dunk again

On if he will do it again:

“I can’t guarantee you that,” he said, according to the Advocate. “But I would never do anything to hurt this team.”

If we have a commanding lead, oh yeah he will so do it.

It risks injury to special teams players.

and his third fine will be at least $33k, probably 44.

Re: Jimmy will Dunk again

Technically I believe it could be considered a donation since it goes to charity so whatever the fine he could in theory claim a % on his taxes. As long as we win the game I see no issue with it but if it goes against Payton he needs to let it go. Find a new way to express yourself. Do a granny shot from the goaline.

No. Each additional unsportsmanlike conduct penalty after the first is $22,050.

No. A granny shot would bring the same penalty. You cannot use the ball as a prop at all ... meaning you cannot use it as a basketball, golf ball, tennis ball, bowling ball, etc.

Only a second offense is defined. Third and beyond are discretionary, with the second offense amount being the minimum.
See Suh in 2011 for precedent

Then he should do a mime block and fake a charge without the ball.

Jimmy, it's ok to do it when we're 21 points up in the Super Bowl and 1.30 left in the 4th !

Danno 08-22-2014 05:10 PM

Re: Jimmy will Dunk again

If he does it he should give 5,000 to each special teams member that now has to risk additional injury due to his selfish me-me attitude.

Or maybe just let the other team score untouched.

Should the Dome have a fake goalpost installed to relieve his dunk itch?

He doesn't even need the ball... just have the fans make a make shift goalpost out of foam.... he will dive in the stands lambeau leap style..... no penalty!!!!

I think it's partly Jimmy Graham's fault the rule even got in place. He broke the Falcons goal-post twice.

Actually, it is all his fault. That's why they call it the Jimmy Graham Rule.

I don't care if the Saints are up by 100 points. If he does it the Saints should suspend him for a game and dock him the pay. Jimmy isn't a pimple on Brees azz and Brees can get through a game without acting like a juvenile. If you want to claim you're one of the big boys, grow up and act like one! This guy reminds me more and more of Jeremy Shockey every day, except Shockey wasn't scared to block.

FTW! I think a foam goalpost with a rim and net on it. That would be cool.

Is there a way to reach graham and the Saints and those season ticket holders in the key seats wiith the foam post idea?

Taking a goal posts to the game and giving it to them would be great
Might even catch on at away games

Still worry about jimmy turning an ankle

Also mentioning the special teams risk is a good point

I think graham is playing with the media but he knows Payton has a no tolerance rule here

Actually, dunking without the ball, and not touching the goal posts, is a pretty darn good idea! Not sure how they could bust him for that!

Well the problem is that its you can't use the ball as prop and you can't even use the goal post as a prop either now. That is the rule that was changed.

True, so setting up some kind of prop by the fans would also draw a flag.

Whats interesting is that I think these rule changes are approved by the players association. Its not just Goodell being an ass.

I could be wrong on that, I'm still searching. I may be confusing fines approved by the CBA with rules approved by the owners.

I am pretty sure these rules have no need to be approved by the PA.

That would mean you can/t spike it either? That SUCKS!

Because now they have to cover a return that would likely be a touchback if he didn't get the penalty. It's a selfish act on his part.

He is getting paid a lot of money to catch passes. He has to pay money to dunk. And the a out he pays is what some people make in a year. Grow up. Act like a big league player who just earned a big league contract.

He dunked 40 times in other stadiums and nothing happened. The two times the goal posts got bent were in Atlanta.

Maybe it's the crappy Atlanta stadiums fault.

not to worry, we are getting a new one!
I hear the lights will be on a timer to go off after the third quarter. That's when everyone leaves anyway

It was a kinda "F" you too moment when the Falcons Brass (Rich McKay) chaired the NFL Competition Committee and led the change to rules prohibiting "dunking"...

Message to the nepotistic, privileged Rich McKay: "F" you, and if you don't like it, acquire players and coaches to stop Graham...

Even more ammo to hate on the Falcons...

Oh, please don't talk about us not lighting up a stadium. :P

I'd rather he just caught every pass that hit him in both hands, and maybe break a tackle every once in a while without skidding to the ground.

You may have gone to the U, but there's no U in WE. WE don't need this SHAT.

Act like you've "been there", even if you don't have the ring yet.

What about the Lambeau Leap? The whole stadium is used as a prop. Stop one, stop them all! No more "Mile High Salute" either!
