The "Slap Ya Mama" red zone is no more
NFL Cancels Slap Ya Mama’s Red Zone Promotion
 Yank a perfectly good sponsor off the air over semantics and a figure of speech that you don't understand. But the guy who mercilessly beat his wife and dragged her around by her hair just gets a two-game suspension. Way to go, NFL. |
Re: The "Slap Ya Mama" red zone is no more
It offended the Slapahoe tribe.

Re: The "Slap Ya Mama" red zone is no more
Complete and utter BS BullCrap. It's downright sickening the level of contempt for anything that does not invoke feelings of Disneyland and Care Bears, coming from one of the most violent sports of all time.

Re: The "Slap Ya Mama" red zone is no more
Maybe we could get Hanes to sponsor the red zone and we could call it the Hanes Wifebeater T Shirt Red Zone! Or how about the Zatarain's Dirty Rice red zone in honor of the guy who is responsible for the NFL suddenly becoming so concerned with domestic violence.

Re: The "Slap Ya Mama" red zone is no more
Did anyone NOT see that coming? I could see it five miles away!

Re: The "Slap Ya Mama" red zone is no more
If the Ravens didn't harbor so many freakin' law-breakers on their roster, we wouldn't have this problem. I will admit that any red zone overlay does annoy me, but this local company is stepping up to support our team and is now a victim of overly sensitive whiners.
On another note, I'm offended over Rice Crispy cereal because it has "Rice" in its name since that advocates a person who is being charged with domestic violence and it also offends me because it advocates crack cocaine with its "Snap-Crackle-Pop" theme. Reckon the "Saints" will have to become the "Nondenominational Persons" with this precedence at this rate. "Spiritual Being of Your Choice" or "No Affiliation with Spirituality" help us all. I'm gonna go choke myself. |
Re: The "Slap Ya Mama" red zone is no more
This is totally ridiculous.

Re: The "Slap Ya Mama" red zone is no more
So lets recap...
A product suggesting that you strike a female. A commercial featuring a black family. I'm more shocked that this was ever allowed to begin with. Its so frigging wrong on numerous levels of PC. I'm 100% positive that the next step will be liberals demanding that the Company change the name of their product. |
Re: The "Slap Ya Mama" red zone is no more
Maybe they can change it to slap the sheet out of Roger Goodell.
Did I spell that wrong? http://www.gannett-cdn.com/media/USA...fb7b67cdb10c81 |
Re: The "Slap Ya Mama" red zone is no more
This could totally backfire on Goodell and whoever else started this mess. I assume people will start wearing their logo on shirts to games. It could get out of hand, having to band the logo from stadiums. If that happens their sales will take off. So in a direct attempt to marginalize the brand it actually creates a huge buzz. So much that they are able to expand into bigger markets. It could be the best thing that ever happened to Slap Yo Mama. Free publicity for months on end.
