Bailey can be a db coach for us and work off that $500k

What we really need is a receivers coach that can show the guys how to shuck at the line

Last year Payton fired NFC title game hero Hartley right before a critical game late in the season and outside of the Seattle game in a whirl wind we did fine

Wish they would have traded up for a great kicker before the cuts like Denver did with the Giants

Loomis has an ace up his sleeve
Somebody track down McCowen's car
He's probably holding a few fg attempts right now

Anyone else think this is more about ensuring we retain certain young players? I imagine that we're gonna move at least Ball, Lorig and Fortt to IR on Monday. That will give us some room to sign a kicker and maybe bring in (or back) some vets. I'm not 100% on how IR works, but don't players need to be on the final 53 in order to be designated to return?

All I know is this, Robinson better play better and more aggressive than he has in the past . If not, then I wouldn't be surprised to see more of White and Jean-Baptiste opposite Keenan.

Bailey was brought in for his perceived leadership and knowledge. We milked that.

All 3 being released means we saw what we needed to and either better will be picked up from a release somewhere else or they didn't provide value.

I don't worry much about the Saints with Mick in charge but it is really strange not to have a kicker at this point. I do believe they have one in mind but why not keep Demke? He out played Graham and we have to hold a roster spot for a kicker anyway..........

Nick Toon f**king sucks ballz. Even at his advanced age, I trust Meachem way more.

If we weren't going to keep Graham or Dimke, then.... this is all a headscratcher. Sigh.

Again I want to repeat: NICK TOON SUCKS. He will either have a key drop or a major penalty in a very important game this year. MARK MY WORDS!

The thing is, Bailey looked kinda terrible, on virtually every play he was actually involved in. If it had been a real game in the regular season he would have been torched numerous times. I like him immensely but I think CHamp resembles Mike McKenzie after the famous Patriots game in '09...great player with occasional flashes of brilliance, but just too old and slow and out of position, too much of the time, to be viable long term. It was an experiment that didn't work out.

The Saints are waiting for today's deadline to designate IR with return. Lorig isn't going to be ready to play anytime soon.

I suspect that Payton will bring back Dimke since the kid has done nothing in a game to tick coach off yet. And since he isn't vested, he can be cut at no cost when he does tick coach off.

What's there for a kicker to do? Practice a few kicks, get on the plane, kick 6 PATs, crack a beer on the plane ride home. How hard can that be?

I agree, its likely Dimeke. It allowed us to float a player for a few days, and if needed Graham can be called back, as well as about 3 or 4 others if Dimeke bombs.

Another brilliant move by Loomis and company.
