Tips and fumbles can bounce in any direction, the recovery is luck.... Thats why you dont try to pick up a fumble and run with it pezo, you fall on it... Last time I checked there isn't a stat for interceptions as far as WR's are concerned. So Brees takes the L for the pick. That was a defining moment in the game.
