Looking at next year's draft
Looks like CB should be a priority in the first round. LB and OL have to be next.
|
Re: Looking at next year's draft
It's time to start thinking that way. This team is not playing "wildcard level" football, much less living up to expectations.
What a joke of a start to a season - and not at all funny... |
Re: Looking at next year's draft
I would normally laugh at this type of thread. But geez... This defense looks like a train wreck :(

Re: Looking at next year's draft
D looks like it snatched 2012 D out if 2013's butt
|
Re: Looking at next year's draft
What happened to the Pass Rush ?
|
Re: Looking at next year's draft
I agree. I'm also a fan of activation Baptiste. He cannot be any worse.
|
Re: Looking at next year's draft
I want to fortify the front 7. We need a stud linebacker... badly.

Re: Looking at next year's draft
Same as last year imo. Not sure what we did this year, or why....

Re: Looking at next year's draft
hey i did not start this cool
CB should be pretty good ILB looks to be solid through 3 rounds Playing LSU next week is Benardrick McKinney*, ILB/OLB, Mississippi State you got some great prospects in the SEC to watch this year A.J. Johnson, ILB, Tennessee Ramik Wilson, ILB, Georgia Amarlo Herrara, ILB, Georgia |
Re: Looking at next year's draft
If we keep playing like this we may be able to trade down for a ton more picks this year and next. I don't know too much about who's coming out this year but we don't need a QB yet (even if we did, I would jump ship if we drafted a scumbag like Jameis Winston) and I don't think there's a Clowney or someone else that remakes a team.
|
Re: Looking at next year's draft
This seems to be the same list from last year. We need CB, LB'er and O-line.
|
Re: Looking at next year's draft
I say we start trading everyone's ass.
Start rebuilding. Work on clearing cap space and unloading to pick up some picks. |

A #2 on a player that can help in the future is not paying dividens now. I wasn't a big fan on this years draft but Sunseri is a bright spot but needs to get more reps. Maybe things will get better the D needs to show alot more than they have. |
Re: Looking at next year's draft
We have drafted CBs just about every year and they don't pan out for whatever reason. I say we do need CBs and Lbers for sure but depending on the draft position we should probably look into drafting a legit 1st round QB. Before people get their panties in a wad THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH BREES PERFOMANCE. It is just time to get a young viable replacement to sit behind him for a couple of years when he finally does retire. It also depends on whos available but if we have the chance to get someone that could be a franchise I say go for it.

Re: Looking at next year's draft
ILB is a must...I am tired of watching Lofton and Hawthorne get beat to the corner on run plays, tired of watching them unable to shed one block (sometimes by a TE, RB, or WR...yeah, I saw Hawthorne get stood up by a WR and blocked out of a run play) and watching them look like a pair of morons in the short passing game. TE's are eating our lunch getting 1st downs.
I'm also tired of teams sitting at 2nd and 4 after a first down run or a 3rd and short after a 1st down incompletion followed by a 2nd down run. ILB blitzes suck because these 2 ain't fast enough to get there and/or get off of blocks. Getting stood up by a 2nd or 3rd string RB multiple times on an inside blitz is sickening. Saw that at least twice today. |
Re: Looking at next year's draft
So who are the top 10 picks on the board already?
|
Re: Looking at next year's draft
Im scared to draft a CB to early. Whoever scouts them needs to go. But agree, ILB and CB above all else.

Re: Looking at next year's draft
Really, all ready.
|
Re: Looking at next year's draft
Will we trade the First-round, first pick, or GO FOR THE GUSTO?
|
Re: Looking at next year's draft
Have a little faith
We are picking 32nd |
Re: Looking at next year's draft
I think we should look at the D as a rebuild.
Take the build from the inside approach or outside in but start rebuilding this thing... |
Re: Looking at next year's draft
Looking at the draft before free agency is a waste of time.
|
Re: Looking at next year's draft
Maybe
Need to know when you pick though. Dont think there will be much cap for any game changing pick ups this year. Cap stand at $159ml so far. Still need to give Cam a contract too |
Re: Looking at next year's draft
I will be the first to call out Drew. Next year he has to redo that contract. all the elite QB in the NFL have and now it is his turn. I will be shocked if he has not already work something out with his agent already. 99% confident Drew has the ground work already laid out.
