Patrick Robinson May Find Himself on a Short Leash in 2014

This was written before the Browns loss. Damn fine assessment. Quite a few of us here have been spot on.

The Saints have Super Bowl aspirations this season, and after a Week 1 loss in which their defense was absolutely ravaged by Matt Ryan and the Falcons to the tune of 448 yards through the air, there is a lot of pressure resting on their defense's shoulders. In particular, Patrick Robinson has got to step his game, lest he lose his starting job on the outside.

Sean Payton has shown a lot of faith in Robinson in the past, but at no point has Robinson lived up to his first round hype. He is rapidly approaching Jason David levels of discontent among the New Orleans Saints fanbase, and it is becoming harder and harder to defend him week in and week out. The Falcons threw the ball at will all game, but the fact that Defensive Coordinator Rob Ryan (who I almost wrote this article on, but decided to make the parameters players that are actually on the field) feels the need to scheme his entire defense around one weak link is a serious issue that needs to be addressed.

Patrick Robinson is not a very good corner back at the NFL level.

He is a back up on most other teams. I have wiped my hands clean of him.

We spent a first rounder on him, how great that's turned out, absolute garbage

P Rob has stunk it up this season but the whole secondary has laid an egg so far including Lewis. It might. Be time to get some of the hungry young guys out there for a few plays....something!!!

Makes me sick. The Saints draft this bum and start him. He's terrible.
Who scouted this dude?

First freaking round pick of 2010 draft. It's 2014!!! He sucks!!!! Time to MOVE ON!!!!!

Our front office doesn't understand 'sunk cost' very well. You know.... like realizing after 2 days that the p3nis pump you bought ait workin and throwing it away instead of getting carpal tunnel syndrome trying to make it work.

Realize when you have hooked dead weight and cut bait before you sink the boat.

Let’s not point the blame finger all at Patrick Robinson! The entire team is struggling as a whole! Our Offense, defense, Special Teams, and Coaching Staff are not performing to their abilities right now. It’s very early in the season… WE WILL TURN THIS THING AROUND!

SOLID! ummm! He was on IR last year; In 2013, Robinson sustained a serious injury to his patella during the Saints' second game; on September 18, 2013, he was placed on the injured reserve list, ending his season

I think he meant Jabari Greer, oh how I wish he could still play but it might don't make a difference if we can't get no pressure. People might think its Cameron Jordan or Junior Galette that not playing up to par but its Akiem Hicks (get back in shape big boy) & Jenkins that pushed the middle up that allowed Jordan & Galette to get those sacks.

I noticed that too. There's little to no pressure up the middle. Against, Cleveland I would chalk that up to playing against a great Oline. But that can't be said for Atlanta. Cincinnati had pressure in Ryan's faca all day yesterday.

Please... For those of us that are in denial and have bellies full of kool-aid.

List his best 3 games in 2013.

I will even help you by giving you the link to his game logs.

P-Rob has been really bad this year, true. But the defense as a whole has not performed at the level we need to have any post-season (or season for that matter) success.

I was thinking it was the excessive snaps that made A Hick non affective & J Jenkins DNP but he just look lazy out their, not motivated. I know it was motivation cause near the goal line, we up by one, he exploded through the line to get Hoyer (unfortunately a offside penalty on def)

4th quarter final 2 minutes and he showed explosion; what happen the 1st 3 quarters?

Players have bad games, Patrick Robinson has bad season after bad season

He never shows signs of improvement, he never makes a play that really wows you (unless it's him getting burned)

The defense may be playing bad, but it's always Robinson that allows the crucial third down conversion or TD.

Nice to know Byrd is earning his 56 million, where are these ball hawking instincts of his. We had several chances on badly thrown passes yesterday and Byrd was nowhere to be seen

82% of teams starting 0-2 disagree with you.

Sign Asante Samuel and Champ if they are still around. They have to be better then what we have right now.
