Sign him, he can't be any worse

I'd rather see Baptiste get his shot to learn on the job...

He can't be any worse than PRob. Put him on the field and do the damn 3 safety look.

Hell, try anything! Toilet paper Jr's house in response to him holding last years Jr for ransom! Do anything! Just get back to where you were last year!!!!

put Prob in press coverage and go throw the bench first. if that does not work pick up he phone

Re: Loomis was asked about potentially re-signing Champ Bailey

If the current CBs on our roster BEAT OUT Champ for a roster spot, I don't think signing him is a good idea. He wasn't good enough to make the roster at a position where we aren't very good, and people still want to sign him?

I'm o.k. with Dixon.

Re: Loomis was asked about potentially re-signing Champ Bailey

I honestly don't think they beat Champ out. He had a bit of an injury bug, and they probably just wanted to go with the younger legs. I know for a fact Champ is better then Rob and White as we speak.

The Dude 09-15-2014 07:52 PM

Re: Loomis was asked about potentially re-signing Champ Bailey

Neither could possibly be worse than Prob.

Re: Loomis was asked about potentially re-signing Champ Bailey

PRob looks slightly like Jason David and Fred Thomas. **** bruh, I'm willing to give Jabari Greer and Champ both a job.

How so? Champ apparently wasn't good enough or healthy enough to beat out either Rob or White...

So where are we know let's re-evaluate.

I think health was the only factor.

Robinson got picked on every preseason game while champ played great in the 2 games we saw.

Every corner on the roster looked better than Robinson during the preseason. I know people are going to say he looked good in practice but no one actually knows coaches aren't going to say he looked bad. Robinson is the scapegoat right now and getting rid of him wont solve everything but it will make our defense better.

We are trying to make the playoffs not give a rookie on the job training.

Bring back Bailey NOW.

I'd trust SJB and Dixon both over the slow injury riddled Bailey... He played what 2 quarters in the preseason between 2 injuries, no thanks...

You watching a personal workout while you post?

We can debate all day about Champ vs PRob or White and why he was cut. What is more telling for me is that he is still out there going into week 3 isn't he?

There is something we don't now about.

Could say the same about Jabari Greer and him now having to retire but there were plenty who wanted him back too. I'd rather take my chances with an old hall of famer then a young, no namer who's been getting toasted for the majority of his career.

Bring in Greer, McKenzie and Bailey.

Re: Loomis was asked about potentially re-signing Champ Bailey

Some players are good at practice but don't perform well under the lights and when the pressure and excitement is on. I think this is what happens to PRob and to an extent White.

He didn't even beat out Dixon.

Just because Champ's a future hall of famer doesn't mean he's better than the other guys on the team at this current point and time. Champ is just simply washed up now. There's a reason that 1) we cut him and 2) no other team has picked him up.

Champ obviously created a reputation of being a shutdown corner during his career, and he deserves to be remembered as a shutdown corner, but he's just not that player anymore based on the two things I mentioned above.

Re: Loomis was asked about potentially re-signing Champ Bailey

Detroit had him in for a try out and they let him walk.

And they're desperate for a CB.

You are probably talking to one of the few non Greer fans in existence. A whole lot of people are forgetting 49er, Patriot, and Packers games where Greer was smoked like a bacon wrapped blunt.

Greer is retired because of a career ending injury.

Greer had some bad games, especially when he allowed the pats TD at the end but he had significantly more good games than he did bad

He often closed out wins with key interceptions/ pass breakups

Falcons in 2012, intercepted 2 passes to end the game vs lions in 2011 playoffs as a couple examples

I can't even name one good game that Patrick Robinson has had.

Without any pressure from the front, doesn't matter who is back there.

He had 2 INTs against TB in 2012 as well. I am not by any means saying that I wouldn't rather him on the field than Robinson. What I am saying is that Greer is retired and being preferred over Robinson isn't saying a whole lot..

Greer was just too inconsistent for my taste. When you look at his performance grades it looks like an EKG. This is his 2012 grading.

I think Greer's peak was in 2009, he had a great season which helped us win the Superbowl
The only disappointing thing is he did not stay in his prime longer, in 2009 he was a real shutdown corner and after that he seemed a step slower

As you said he started being a little inconsistent, when he had a good game he really did have a good one though.

"plenty" wanted him? He didn't even work out for anybody.
As for Champ, we kept 9 LB's and a hurt Ball instead of carrying him as a 6th CB, even though we were already on the hook for the 500,000 signing bonus
We took a gamble; we lost. Time to move on

This is something I have stated numerous times. Champ didn't get beat out, he just wasn't healthy enough to show he could play a full 16 games.
