When New Orleans Saints defensive end Akiem Hicks stood before a cafeteria full of third- through fifth-grade students at the Einstein Charter extension school on Michoud Boulevard in east New Orleans, he got the tough part out of the way quickly.

"I don't have any excuse for 0-2," he said.
After his speech was done, Hicks said, "That's a technique: Get it out of the way before they bring it up."

Hicks is one of the many on the defense who needs to stop talking and start walking. I haven't seen him push the pocket a single time so far.

Defense, especially the line, got fat and sassy in the offseason and thought they wouldn't have to work for it anymore.

This team rebuffs me of the dream team the eagles put together but were unable to produce. I hope I am wrong, but it ain't looking good so far. Let's not forget that the giants had a similar start a few years ago and still pulled out a super bowl championship. It's not how you play early in the season, its how strong your can finish. The saints are 0-1 in their division. As long as they can win 75% of their division games they will still win the division and ultimately make the playoffs.

Exactly what I thought

Our defense came in with the mentality that on paper we could be the best defense in NFL history, and then decided not to try as hard

Now we are in a hole.
