Poster blasting Goodell almost gets Saints fan ejected
Komissar Goodell is probably still butt hurt from the last Saints fan to embarrass him!
A Saints fan almost got kicked out of the stadium in Cleveland Sunday because of his passionate dislike of NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. Matt Akins penned a negative sign about Goodell and learned, like other Saints fans, that it's frowned upon by the NFL. "We're all passionate about Sean Payton and Bountygate a couple of years ago," said Akins. A homemade sign sent a message to Goodell that ignorance is no excuse. "It's the same thing Goodell told Sean Payton. Ironically enough, he's using ignorance now in the Ray Rice situation," Akins said. Re: Poster blasting Goodell almost gets Saints fan ejected
Nice. Quoting Goodell can get you thrown out of an NFL game.
I'm sure the owners are proud. |
Re: Poster blasting Goodell almost gets Saints fan ejected
Wow, no vulgarity, nothing inappropriate and the sign isn't even that big.
Maybe Goodell should come out of whatever hideout he's holed himself away in and try to make some decisions about Peterson, Hardy and the rest instead of worrying about a protest sign. |

I'll be in that number this Sunday and I'll be sure to share any great anti-goodell images.

Re: Poster blasting Goodell almost gets Saints fan ejected
Cleveland's stadium has one of the most fascist type atmospheres (outside of the Pound) I've ever experienced.

Using his own words against him. Too bad you had to witness a poor ass performance.

The phrase "Ignorance is no excuse" has been around for centuries.
So the word "Goodell" must've been the offensive part. |
Re: Poster blasting Goodell almost gets Saints fan ejected
Oh boy!!!! Cleveland stadium official just cause a rise, I won't be surprised to see a lot of banners " ignorance is no excuse " in the super dome.

Pretty sure Godell will be gone in off season between 2014 and 2015 - question is - who will replace him and what precedent will it set?

Re: Poster blasting Goodell almost gets Saints fan ejected
wait a minute. since when has NFL stadium become private property?
Quick name one team that has been built their own stadium? All tax dollars. thus it is public. Tell ya i am waiting for some one to stand up for the rights of the tax payers. till they take their hands out of our pocket and stop black mailing us every time a toilet needs replacing they have to recognize the rights of the tax payers. I see nothing lude or rude with the sign. so IMO that fan just had his freedom of speech right denied to him in a public place. see it is the passive nature of good people that is abused by the system. |

There in lies the issue. we are so use to accepting that your basic rights do not apply we surrender them without a second thought. sorry it is unconstitutional to enforce such a policy. no one is willing to challenge it and such is the state of our nation. but this will kill the thread asap :p. |

I'm sure most stadiums are similar. 10 days of the year it supports the NFL, the other 355 days the City gets revenue from other sources using that dome. The taxpayer isn't exactly getting ripped off. |

That said, you and I have what rights are left that haven't been unwillingly stripped from our hands... As well as private business owners do. I think at times we all vent in a reactive manor and miss out on the true cause. The NFLPA gave Roger Goodell all of his power through the CBA, just like municipalities give the NFL all of their powers through the lease agreement. Your tax money goes into building a structure owned by your local government and then they decide what power to give to any entity leasing it. If you come barrow my mower hagen and I give you the authority to repaint it, my wife shouldn't be mad at you for it coming back black and flamed. It is so easy and convenient some times to blame the wrong person. I think anyone getting ejected or singled out for quoting Goodell is absurd and highlights just how petty and inconsistent the league actually is. A guy with a sign quoting Goodell gets harassed but Ross Tucker and many NFL Network personalities can say that Roger Goodell has lost his credibility on air and nothing is done. Know the difference? One generates rating$$$. :):bng: |
Re: Poster blasting Goodell almost gets Saints fan ejected
They are seriously kicking fans out of stadiums for opposing the commissioner!!!!???? Yea Hitler did the same thing. Guess there is no such thing as free speech in the NFL.
