Former New Orleans Saints player Scott Ross found dead in Lafayette

Former New Orleans Saints player Scott Ross was found dead in a church parking lot in Lafayette, the Los Angeles Daily News reported Monday. Ross, 45, played four games at linebacker for the Saints in 1991.

Ross was among former NFL players to file lawsuits against the league regarding head trauma and concussions. The New York Daily News reported about the lawsuit in 2012.

Ross played college football for Southern Cal. The Los Angeles Daily News said Ross "was well-known for his hard-nosed style of play and continued the once-proud tradition of the No. 35 for linebackers."
