Mind-boggling stat
I just heard from a buddy that DeMarco Murray had 103yds rushing last night BEFORE CONTACT.
Holy Shnikees!! Are we sure these are the same guys from last year? |
Re: Mind-boggling stat
I can recall a play where we swarmed to Demarco only to tackle the football and not the runner. He must have run for an additional 8 yards.
That has got to be on the coaches. I didn't see that nonsense last year. |
Re: Mind-boggling stat
Whats also troubling is that we were selling out to stop the run but couldn't. This defense has regressed something awful.

Re: Mind-boggling stat
Last years defense was only a dream.
|
Re: Mind-boggling stat
The one recurring complaint this year has been "lack of pressure" up front.

Re: Mind-boggling stat
Total Offense: 3rd Best in the NFL
Total Defense: 3rd Worst in the NFL Are we destined to only have a good defense every 4 years? Our front 7 just doesn't look good at all. Why does the front office hate LB's? |

Re: Mind-boggling stat
The defense was very poor and I've given the offense a pass so far but last night it was a total team loss - offense included
The defense was terrible, but our offense didn't score a TD until the 3rd quarter By doing that your already putting the D in a bad spot, just so happens that our D can't stop anyone regardless. |

That I am my friend.......So I don't have time for this bush league BS.
I would have posted this clip, but it might upset the tinder heart. So most of you get what I'm spitting The Big Lebowski - You got a date Wednesday, baby! |
Re: Mind-boggling stat
We are not in decline, we have gone totally off the cliff.

Re: Mind-boggling stat
Drew Brees cant carry us anymore. Now, like nearly all other QBs, Brees needs a strong run game, reliable WRs, good protection and defense to win. We have a lot of this. MAYBE, when Ingram comes back, we can run the ball, play better D and make a run.

Re: Mind-boggling stat
I was just looking back at the Saints history of selecting LBs in the first tworounds of the draft. To find the 5 last draft picks in the opening two rounds you have to go back 37 years to Rickey Jackson.
Breaking them down Round 1 selections M.Fields 1995 A. Toles 1985 Round 2 C.Watson 2004 R.Freeman 1994 R.Jackson 1981 Another one The Saints starting 4 LBs(Haralson-Hawthorne-Lofton-Galette) have combined played in 348 games and have a total of 49 Passes defended and 10 Interceptions. The Man that Lofton replaced as the Saints ILB alone had in 125 games 35 PD and 12 INT WHY DOES THE TEAM HATE LINEBACKERS! |

Re: Mind-boggling stat
come on. Dallas OL ate us alive at the first level and the second level of the defense.
Run defense got man handled and slapped around like a puppy that peed on rug. they need to be tied to a chair. tooth picks in the eye lids and forced to watch it over and over. been a while since i have seen a saints defense so thoroughly beat up on |

Re: Mind-boggling stat
Murray has been doing that to every team they have played this year. His yards before contact was high before he even suited up against our "defense".

As Lee pointed out, last time the Saints expended a draft pick on a LB in the first two rounds was in 2004, pre-Payton...no accident! All the rest have been journeymen or cast-offs, even Vilma! Sean Payton, QB -- 7 sacks in 3 games, 1 INT, 34.8% completion percentage, 1987 Chicago Bears! Hates linebackers! http://graneyandthepig.files.wordpre...onchibears.jpg |
