You mean that same predictable offense that ranks 3rd best in the NFL?

We are getting stopped more on third downs and in the red zone more settling for three points instead...

Whether it's being predictable, failure to execute in individual assignments, age, or a combination of same, there's something askew...

NFL is a business and sproles wasn't worth the money we would end up owing him, get over it

He should be able to power through those LBs and DLs that were all over him every time he got the ball.

He was as good as ever last year. He just didn't have any blocking.

It was his fault and Payton's. Sproles did nothing last year, no matter what they tried with him, but because of what he had done in years past it was like they were determined to force him down the other team's throat. For both those reasons, I don't miss him. He had become unproductive, and his presence was giving every play away.

Who's fault is it this year? I don't know buddy, what do you think? Are Brees and most of his receivers playing like crap, perhaps? That's what it looks like to me. Our running backs have been just fine, but our coach only gives them the ball in spurts. Which brings me back to my point... I don't miss Sproles. What we do this year has nothing to do with that point.

He had as much blocking as any of them, and did the least with it. But there are tell tale signs that go beyond just looking at holes. Anyone can run through a big enough hole. Sproles looked hesitant, he didn't look as explosive when he WAS in space and his kick and punt returns were absolutely dreadful. Pierre Thomas has more than filled his role in the offense.

This is why I am a hair away from dropping my interest in the NFL altogher and going back to following college. There is too much drama and too many premadonnas out there. The NFL has turned into a huge soap opera based around some of the most whiney grown men I have ever seen.
I watched a few college games over the weekend. I had forgotten what it was like to see a game where the players actually showed heart and played their butts off from whistle to whistle. They were actually allowed to do some pretty hard hitting without flags going everywhere.
The NFL has gotten so commercial that its not as fun to watch as it once was. Its about 4 years away from being scripted like wrestling anyway.

Sproles had the second highest YPC, 4.2 of the four running backs last year. Ingram had 4.9. He was ahead of both Robinson and Thomas.

Thomas - 3.7
Robinson - 4.1
Sproles - 4.2
Ingram - 4.9

He also had 2 rushing touchdowns to Ingram and Robinson's one rushing touchdown.

I don't think you can say Sproles did the least with the opportunities he had. Also, in the passing game Sproles had 71 receptions, no way could Pierre take those catches on top of the 77 he got himself to fill Sproles role in the offense.
